Bearcat Police Scanner

Forget it. It will never work again. Bearcat scanners have a number of time-based failure modes, and once they go bad there is no way to restore them to operability. Electra, the company that sold Bearcat to Uniden, had a general policy of not servicing older models, and it appears that Uniden has the same idea. Even knowing this, I still bought a new BCT15X in December of 2011. >> What else could I do? GRE's competitive model was priced much higher, and was ugly in comparison. Then, in 2012, GRE lost its factory building in china, leaving Uniden with the whole scanner market for the forseeable future. >>> All Radio Shack scanners have been made by either Bearcat or GRE. One model even had guts from one company in a case made by the other!
