adobe premiere or any other video editing software? What filters would we need and what steps would we have to take to get the desired effect. We want the final footage to look as though it was filmed completely at night and look very natural. If you have a link to screen shots of the filter in work or a tutorial that would be very helpful as well. Thank you in advance.

you can shoot in daylight if you have the right filter on the lens.

My recommendation is to do as much as you can before the editing stage. It's very possible to do color correction if your using prosumer software such as Vegas Pro, but I don't know much about adobe...

If your camera has apeture and/or shutter speed features, then I would mess around with those. Close the apeture and lower the shutter speed to make the shot look darker (the reverse is also true). You can also make things darker by lowering the conrast, which is sometimes called the "gain".

If all that isn't an option, then you can film at night using anything from a shop light to a spotlight for lighting.

1. film the movie at night, but with lights so you can see
2. there are special lens out there where you can put it on the camera and it looks completely natural. sorry, but i dont know where to get them.

To make it convincing is very difficult. Google 'day for night shooting' - hopefully there'll be an article by an expert out there.
