For example - 9/11. Think about how passionate people were and when specific types of information was fed to people their perceptions became skewed. Most thought a war was justified back then.
Only now with most of the information at hand we changed our minds.
How much perception is skewed I wonder especially in religion?
Think of it. Feed only certain types of information and you rule the hearts and minds of a large number of people.
That is what scares me a little concerning the news. Most are either right or left. Churches too. You get fed that particular belief's dogma does that not skew your perception.
I don't know, what do you think?

Witches are another good example. Remember what happened to witches during the dark ages? Talk about ruling a society through their perceptions.

The first thing that pops into mind is YES. Think about the Catholic Church in the middle ages. They ruled society with an iron fist. Why? Because they kept the general populace ignorant and then fed them their own information, and they made sure the people were scared enough that they wouldn't think for themselves at risk of being tortured and/or excommunicated.

I still believe a war was justified after 9/11. As a matter of fact, we should've went after Osama way before 9/11. Now, the veering off of the war on terror to Iraq was not justified. But the attack on Afghanistan was certainly justified.
Propaganda has always worked. Hitler, Stalin, communists, radical Islamists, anti-gay organizations, non-stop news reports about Anna Nicole, etc. all affect our perceptions and create a certain mindset. Religion is no different. Every denomination, sect, religion and non-religion tells its believers why it's right and all other beliefs/non-beliefs are wrong, thereby setting up a perception in the adherents.

I agree with you, it's pretty scary, but if perception is reality and you can control society's perception, then yes, you can control society. Perception is skewed in many areas, but you can control this ofr yourself, if you control how much you access the media in the first place and really think about and research something for yourself before you react based on what the media has said.

It is a sin to ignore the pliets of others.
God speaks to people his will. Imagine how people will stand up to science with God's will. I know that science build theories based only on the facts it can see. Also, a lie is only believable if based on truth. So a science who only has half the facts is a huge half truth.

bravo, i think you got it.
what makes it so easy is that so many people don't think they have the time to question what they are spiritually fed. also, it is a fear of the unknown and knowing that you won't be able to get any definite answers. it's fear of taking on the responsibility fo your own spiritual education that holds people back from coming to a strong, meaningful, and fulfilling spiritual life. people have been told that god is angry with them or that they weren't good enough to approach that god or that someone more "pure and holy" had to do it for them. after that has become so ingrained, it's hard to shake.

I think that more than ever people are lead by emotion and not reasonable thought....so it is true that we will attatch our emotions to whim and fads I think it is a shame that it is how America is run and raises it's future as well. so lets be world changers and do what is right....want to ?

Yes! there is much hidden from the people. There are Four hidden Dynasties that have brought apostasy through out the world.....Kind of like the Matrix if i may put it,.....How far are we willing to go.....How far are we willing to go to seek truth....it can be scary to except that we may have lived a lie...............But what i say Even as Christ words declare......The truth will set you Free!
