I have read that after running, you should always complete crunches straight after, can anyone tell me why this is recommended? Thanks

I have never heard of that but i know when i am on the eliptical trainer i do crunches right after just because it makes me more pumped and i feel better.

Sounds like an old wives tale. But I'd never discount it without first knowing what type of running situation you had completed.

Well indeed it is said that after trainings is good to have something sweet, as it replaces your sugar. But honestly, it's not that crucial. It' far more important to drink something! water is good, but a sports drink is better because it replaces some sals and minerals which you lost over the training.

It may be because you are buring more calories &fat and by doing something different, the fat might be able to be burned faster and you can gain more muscle mass.

Also, it is good to do streching before AND after excersise.
