To receive a really educated and informative answer, surely these questions should be put to the scientific community.

Do they really want to hear an answer at all or are they scared of facts?

The same reason they keep editing their questions to blast the correct responses they are given and then always choose as best answer another fundie or a dummy account they have made for themselves.
They are not here to learn. They are here to spread their lies and propaganda to try and convert others.

As a Christian, I am always amused by the lack of a sound scientific education by people, theists and atheists included. For some reason, both theists and atheists seem to think that important matters of faith (or lack of it) somehow turns on issues like the age of the universe, the precursors to Cro Magnon (say), or current volcanic activity.

There are philosophical arguments involving the presence of the Universe as a whole, or whether or not the concept of a universe as a whole makes sense which do bear on the believability of the divine; but those questions are rarely asked by theists, and by atheists never answered.

No they shouldn't be. But to argue on such a high level takes a lot of knowledge and on both sides of the issues there is a lot of ignorance. I mean how many people can honestly discuss cosmology, theology, anthropology, and biology on an even plane. ie. Is this a multi dimensional universe/ Do beings exist within the confines higher dimensions. And if they do how do we prove it etc. when we have almost do way to observe it. People of faith rely on what they are taught and what they have come to believe and atheist do the same. And don't give science that much credit at this stage of the game, we are in our infancy when it comes to the observable universe, we might be missing several more levels of understanding when it comes to existence and we wouldn't even be aware of it till there's another "big leap forward" in what we know.

I haven't asked any scientific questions here because I know where to look for scientific answers and this is not the place. I have a Master's degree in Botany and a B.A. in biology and yes, I am a Christian. One of my sisters has a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and is a college professor (along with doing scientific research) and she is a Christian. My other sister has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and is not a Christian yet she shows us respect for our own beliefs, something you don't see much of here.

their questions are asked out of arrogance and ignorance. How can they purport to be enlightened people, when they do not know any other opinion than their own. A lot of Christians ask stupid questions not really bothered about the answer, it is just a way of posting their specious rhetoric, something they have little knowledge of themselves. I don't speak of all Christians, but the ones you are on about probably know less of the bible than the Atheists. These small minded zombies of God should really get their facts straight b4 trying to question scientific fact.

No reason why science and Christianity should be mutually exclusive. In fact God is the author of all science.

What is clear is that those people who still insist that evolution is a scientific fact have no grasp of true science. Evolution cannot even be classed as a theory as it can't be tested by scientific means. Those who believe in evolution require as much faith (if not more) than those who believe in a Creator God.

As far as I know the only questions on here by Christians which contain any reference to science is some attempt to prove that the process of evolution never happened. Some hope! Or like we have seen here that science supports the bible. A ridiculous statement. And one I see that the earth is 6000 years old all that deserves is a laugh

I don't think there are any scientific questions here.

There are some questions from believers that they try and dress up in scientific terms, or they will try and compare some aspect of their religious belief with scientific principles. Usually wrongly, in my opinion.

However, I'm not a scientist either, so value my opinion as you choose.

We could ask, "why do so many scientists ask religious questions?"

Science, religion, and philosophy all kind of merge...don't you think? You can't have one without the other two. And before you reply with, "..educated and informative...," you have to admit that science has thousands times more questions than answers. Heck, the unknown is what drives scientists. Same for philosophers. Same for religion.

Yahoo! Answer Participants don't constitute the scientifc community, scientists do.

I haven't seen any scientific questions posed here (other then vain attempts to disprove evolution). If there are people going around doing this, it doesn't necessarily follow they pose questions just as to not receive an answer when the knowledge has already been established.
