Most atheists are not so thin-skinned and being an atheist myself, the term infidel does not offend me. As a matter of fact, I think the term is quite humorous..

I'm a Muslim. Calling someone an infidel might upset that person or group of people. Just call them Atheists because that is the definition for Infidel according to http://www.dictionary.com
