The average height for men around the world is 5'9 and for women it is 5'3-4.Genetics also play a part in determining an individuals height.Genetically speaking, the heights of mother and son and of father and daughter correlate, suggesting that a short mother will more likely bear a shorter son, and tall fathers will have tall daughters.
Diet (in addition to needed nutrients; such things as junk food and attendant health problems such as obesity), exercise, fitness, pollution exposure, sleep patterns, climate (see Allen's rule and Bergmann's Rule for example), and even happiness (psychological well-being) are other factors that can affect growth and final height.
U didnt state what nationality\race u are. This is also a major factor that determines a persons height.
I know u said u wanted a boost in confidence, but realistically i dont think ur gonna be much taller than u are now. Maybe an inch or so taller, but thats it. Men usually stop growing at 18(most of their grwth happens during puberty) and women at 22.
It helps to have great self-esteem and a good body image. Being confident in urself goes a long way. Your height doesnt define u as a man, u do. Believe me, i should know. Im only 5'1 but im happy being myself.

If you are still within the growing age then perhaps you can add a few inches by eating a balanced diet and leading an active life. A nutritious diet that includes fruits and vegetables, dairy, cereals, meat, and plenty of water will aid the natural process for enhancing height. A good and proper night’s sleep is also essential for the growth process. Taking part in active sports along with some stretching exercises can have a cumulative effect on human growth. There is not much we can do to grow taller after puberty. There are many products in the market today that claim to increase height of adults, but they are all scams without sufficient scientific evidence. Surgical options, though available, are EXTREMELY RISKY and of course expensive. This leaves us with basically two options.
1. Stretching Exercises: - These exercises will help you improve your posture. You’ll be surprised that how much of “Height” is hidden behind your slouched back. You can, at any age, add an inch or two of height by simply improving your posture. Follow the link below for information on specific height enhancing exercises:

2. Second, you can create a “Taller” effect by following some smart fashion techniques. You can easily add another inch or two of “illusionary height” by improving your dress coordination. The link below can provide some input on height increase through fashion effect:

Good luck

It is possible for males to grow beyond 18 up to the age of 21 but it is uncommon and in some isolated, extremely rare and almost unheard of cases growth actually continues up to 25.

Yeah a doctor can prescribe you growth hormones that will make you taller.
One of my friends from middle school and high school injected himself once a night in the hamstring (doctor prescribed) and it really did help him grow taller.
i think you have to be a certain height to qualify but i am not sure..

Something you could try is hanging. Hang on to something by your arms without letting your feet touching anywere. What this does is that it decompresses your spine, which gets compressed by the pull of gravity on your body, and allows a certain liquid present around the spine to fill into the little compartments of the spine. However, this liquid is only present till the age of 20. This worked for me.

girls will end up growing around age 20ish... so you have at least 2 years to work real hard. I am a pretty petite girl so i'm short too. However, i do these certain stretches where it will make you look lean and tall. It's great. I think it works~!
just search it online

Hang in there, Hokai: You have a few growing years left.
Take as good care of yourself as you can: Eat right and exercise. Your genes will do the rest. And practice good posture: Even if you don't actually get taller, you will *look* taller.
Good luck!
