got to your vets and they will prescribe some flea stuff! the best ones are frontline n advantage! one pack will last around 4 months, and its better than anything you can get from a pet shop! shampoo might not work that good!

You don't use powder or shampoo, or ANYTHING from a pet store, believe me.

You go to a vets and pick up some proper treatment i.e Frontline, Advantage, Revolution or Advocate. These are spot-ons - liquids in a pipette that you apply to the skin on the back of the pups neck. They're safe, and they work. Unlike pet store products.

I bathe my dogs in "Animal Pharmaaceuticals, G/Essential Fatty acid shampoo" and I have a creme Rinse as well. Then when he is fully dry I use advantage, every 3 weeks. I also have flea collars. I am very anial about any bug.
The shampoo and rinse I get from the vet, as well with the advantage. The shampoo smells great by the way.

Sorry, darling. Meet the real world. Dogs have fleas, and he who sleeps with dogs will have fleas.
Keep the dog clean and use the flea stuff you put on their backs. Keep the carpet and lawn treated with flea powder.Fleas get on the dog to feed and then drop off and lay eggs. So you might find fleas on one check and not another. Look for little tiny black specks in the area on their shoulders and on their back just above the tail area (this is where the flea can get that the dog cannot reach to scratch). Those black specks indicate fleas have been there.

I put a nutritional supplement in my dogs food, which helps with their health and it also has natural foods that keep fleas away. If you are interested go to (sorry I don't know how to do it as a link) www.juiceplus.com/+Lb53116. I never or rarely find fleas on m dogs or in the house.

Well, pick it off. If you see anymore, wash him with some flea shampoo, you can ask the people at petsmart or whatever petstore you go to and they will give you the best kind for your puppy. Best luck withy your puppy!

Dawn dishwashing soap kills fleas. But be very very careful to rinse all the soap out. It helps if you can use a sprayer, liek they have on sinks. The soap that doesn't get rinsed off him, is what irritates his skin.
Do his ears too. But after the bath, mix 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water, and put some of that in his ears. It will dry the water out of his ears.
Also wash whatever he lays on in hot water and dawn. If that's your bed, wash everything on it.

as your pup is over 12 weeks you can use most things, shampoo, frontline, or go to your vet and he will sort something out for you, dont worry hes just picked it up from another dog or while hes been out.good luck
