I dont like doing them in the microwave, because you dont get the crispy skin (which is yummy!) so was going to try them in the oven instead.
How long do they take in the oven, at what temperature, and do you wrap them in foil, or just leave them uncovered?
Thankyou!

I leave them unwrapped and if u want put some oil rubbed all over the skin on them to ensure crispy skin, and cook them at 325 for about 1 hour depending on the size and how many u have...

I like a crispy skin too, so I got a trick, I do the potato for 4 mins, let it stand for 1 and turn it upside down, then give it another 4 minutes, then get it out and blast it on the oven at the highest temp. for 15-20 mins. (uncovered)

Most potatoes are done after 45 mins, but same as meat it depends on thickness. The thicker it is the longer it takes for the heat to get to the centre.

Depending on the size they take about the same as a regular potato. You can hurry it up a bit by getting some stainless steel nails and sticking those in. I agree with the microwave bit. I like to eat potato skins too so I want them nice and crispy. And frankly I think the flavor and texture changes too and I don't like them that way.

You have many choices, leave them as is, butter and wrap in foil, split and coat with butter/margarine and brown sugar, or whatever you think you might like.
Normal cooking time wrapped or plain, is about one hour @400 deg. This of course Will vary with the size .
If it's the crispy skin you're after then forget the butter and foil wrap, just bake plain.

i would start em off in the microwave for about 10mins, Then If you want them to have crispy skin,do not wrap them in foil, poke em all over with a fork, and put on the top shelf for 30 mins, at gas mark 5-6, then turn em over and bake for another 30mins, should be lovely!!! Mmmmmmmmmmmm

Wash em, make sure they are dry, then rub lightly with EVOO. Bake about an hour at 350 . Turn them over half way through cooking.

Pierce your tatties, then wrap them in kitchen towel. If you just give them 8 mins in the microwave, then 15 mins in the oven, but drizzle olive oil over them, you will get crispy skins, but they won't take so long. 200 degrees C. You don't have to wrap them in tin foil.
