space are the same age as the one found on earth based on the carbon dating system? Can anyone explain?
A recent conference in Crystal City,Virginia included the usual insistence by atheists that "God is
a myth" & "children must not be taught religion" (Castillo 2007),Oxford professor Richard Dawkins unleashed his typical militant
,intolerant tirade agasint Christians. He insisted:Religion is not the root of all evil, but it gets in the wayof (determining)how
we got here & where we find ourselves....& that is evil in itself"(Castillo,emp.added).Ironic,is it not, that if atheism is true
& there is no God,no absolute, objective evil even exists. That means that
Dawkins must use the term"evil"to refer simply to his own subjective opinon.
When asked to state the main difference between believers & atheists,Dawkins unhesitatingly quipped:"well, we're bright" (Castillo)
Apart from the arrogance, let us make certain that we have grasped correctly his senitment.
In order to be an atheist, one must know(& thus be able to prove)the following(see Warren & Flew,1977,pp.7-8,55-58):
!. Matter is eternal,having existed non-congently,without a beginning.
2.Matter is all that exists.
3.Matter has always existed.
4.No one piece of matteris worth anymore than any other piece of matter.
5. By sheer chance, dead matter became living matter.
6.By sheer chance, dead matter conscious matter.
7.By sheer chance, dead matter became a human being.
8.By sheer chance, dead matter developed conscience.
But the atheist cannot know or prove any of these eight items! Even modern science acknowledges that the Universe is
not eternal(see Miller,2007,2[4]:30-31).These eight are but a fraction of the insurmountable
barriers to proving atheism.Yet,we are assured by one of the world's leading atheists that they are "bright.
Professing to be wise, they became fools.......[and]exchanged the truth
of God for a lie,and worshipped and servered the creature rather than the Creator" (Romans 1:22-25)

I guess it boils down to we believe what we feel is right, and they believe theirs. In the never-ending struggle to determine who is smarter, that is a moot point. We'll just let the Lord himself do the judging and feel relief and praise we are on the Lord's side and He is on ours; we will not fear for what can mere man do unto us? They cannot take our beliefs from us if we stand strong and united in faith. Let them believe they are the superior intellect. We know better! God's blessings to you!

Well lets see.
Statements 1,2 and 3 are false. hey have been false for over 70 years for certain. You can read up on Einsteins theory of relativity and on Quantum theory as well as the physics involved in nuclear fission.
+3 points for the Scientists, and -3 points for the Intelligent Design crew right there
Statement 4. That would be true in some senses, but what is the relevance of the statement to anything? I see no relevance to the statement.
Still +3 for science and -3 for Intelligent Design
Statements 6>8 Nothing sheer chance about it. The more we learn the more probable it appears that molecules self assembled and became what we call living. The conditions of an early earth make it almost a certainty. The actual line between living and dead has never really been clear, think about viruses or prions, and recent work in laboratories manufacturing DNA from stock chemicals blurs that distinction even more. If you think about it we turn dead material into living material every time we eat or drink something.
The rest of the statements are refuted because they are all based on the argument of number 6
So, Science +7, Intelligent Design -7
Now atheism really has nothing to do with following science. Many great Scientists are religious, most atheists are not scientists. Directing this at Atheists is actually a smear tactic.
It is intellectualy dishonest. I think that should get an extra penalty, -5
So final score on 8 points
Science = +7
Intelligent Design = -12
If you and the ID crew are going to try slamming the science you really should be learning it first.
and C14 dating is not used to determine the age of rocks.

One is an atheist who does not believe in God. He/She doesn't have to subscribe to any other belief.
Many of the numbered statements here are not true:
2. Matter is not the only thing that exists, there is also energy.
3. Matter has not always existed, it was generated via the Big Bang.
4. "Worth" is a human relation. Gold is "worth" more than, say, iron, because of supply and demand.
5. Nothing is dead if it was never alive to begin with.
6. Makes no sense.
7 & 8. Humans evolved from simpler lifeforms (as did conscience). Religion says human beings "came from dead matter".
As for the quotation from Romans 1, you just proved that yourself. And, by the way, I DO believe in God.

Why do people insist on using the bible to convince an atheist? It only strengthens their argument that we don't know what we are talking about. And your initial point about the space rock, what does that have to do with anything. If the solar system and the earth are about the same age then all debris left over in our solar system would be the same age. Thats what the vast majority of rocks that hit us are. I doubt if we would come into contact with all that much matter from outside our own system. The nearest other star is about 25 trillion miles away. Something from an earlier system (created earlier) would have to float an awful long time and then just happen to hit us, not very likely.

Atheists are humans and prone to mistakes. After all how can "God's" creation be flawless?
To answer you question:
1. Matter is eternal,having existed non-cogently,without a beginning.
Yes it is. It only changes form. It can exist as Energy or Matter. E = mc^2
2. Matter is all that exists.
Yes, everything is matter. From your nail polish to the International Space Station, it's all matter. Even if it is Energy, it is just another form of matter.
3. Matter has always existed.
Yes it did. In one form or the other.
4. No one piece of matter is worth anymore than any other piece of matter.
Yes because whatever be it, it all boils down to the same electron, protons and neutrons.
5. By sheer chance, dead matter became living matter.
Yes, read about "Keto-Enol Tautomerism"; read how DNA structures mutate.
6. By sheer chance, dead matter conscious matter.
Yes, just as oil repels from water, a snail repels from salt, man repels from different stimuli. You might argue that oil is non-living while the snail is living. True. But oil is an irganic chemical. Read about VIRUS, who display characteristics of both living and non-living things and why they are considered the link between the living and non-living world!
7. By sheer chance, dead matter became a human being.
Yes, it was chance. Had it not been chance, we would not have had millions and millions of species or animals.
8. By sheer chance, dead matter developed conscience.
Yes, just as hermit crabs have the conscience to protect their bodies and to take shelter in empty snail-shells!

first off dawkins does not represent all atheists because atheism is not some organized group like a religion
science proves religion wrong, but it dosent prove that atheism is right, just that none of the religions are right
and by the way there are rocks in space that are the same age as the rocks on earth, however that doesnt mean every single rock in space is the same age as earth, i have no idea who told you that
inorder to be an atheist you must not beleive in god or gods or anything similar, not prove every single bit of science
if you are to say that atheists must prove that they're right then you must do the same for christianity
atheists can prove christains wrong but christains are yet to prove atheism wrong
by the way more people have died in the name of jesus than any human ever, even hitler

Wow - you really don't know much, do you?
"did you know that the rocks fond outside the earth floating in space are the same age as the one found on earth based on the carbon dating system?"
That is, in fact, completely false. Carbon dating is not used in that kind of situation. I gave a source below - go read it, and never again repeat the lie you just told. It'd also be a good idea to stop listening to whoever told you that lie.
"In order to be an atheist, one must know(& thus be able to prove)the following(see Warren & Flew,1977,pp.7-8,55-58):"
You cut and pasted this but didn't include the reference? Oops.
In fact that list of things is thoroughly wrong. Being an atheist does not require believing any of them.
"Professing to be wise, they became fools.......[and]exchanged the truth of God for a lie,and worshipped and servered the creature rather than the Creator" (Romans 1:22-25)"
And then after making a fool of yourself with that nonsense you cut-and-pasted here, you end with a childish insult?
Go find something else to attack. You're not nearly well-informed or adult enough to take on atheists. We're far too bright for you, kid.

we should all be allowed to teach our children about religion freely, but do not teach my children your religion...you do not have the right to expose my kids to your beliefs without my permission....in school they are taught science, but it is not taught in a way to try to disprove religion...if there is a conflict, in your opinion, talk to your kids and explain what it means...it's up to you to prove your belief to your kids, not the school. The science that is taught is main stream scientific belief...many scientists that believe evolution exists still manage to believe in God.
I personally believe that there is a blue print for life and maybe it was created by someone (God), and this blueprint is readily available through the nature of Physics and chemistry....but my belief does not imply Intelligent design per se...but I also do not need others to be forced to have my opinion....I would rather there was intelligent debate about it....
Also, the rocks that they find in space are those from this solar system and were formed at the same time as the rocks were that formed Earth...so I really wonder what your getting at

Believing in a god gives up reason. To believe in god, you must blindly put your faith in the idea that he is real. Man is no good as a rational being unless he is using his sense of reason to the fullest because reason is used to understand the nature of the world.
Creation is not an even in time but that by which time comes to be. So what was God doing before creation? And why did God bother to create at all?
Why is there evil in the world? God is all good and all powerful, is he not? Perhaps it is just that God's goodness is perfect, but uncomprehensible. If this is so, then God's goodness is unknown and so religion must end. What shall the people pray for if what they are praying for is unknown?
Natural evil is not necessary, but it does exist. Animals kill one another for food when they could simply eat plants. Animal pain is not necessary, not for death, accident, learning or appreciation. Evil could greatly be reduced by divine intervention. Also, greater natural dilligence would vastly improve life (all accidents can be prevented).
Perhaps there is evil because God gave us free will. So then, natural evil is due to moral evil. Moral evil is due to free will. Free will is necessary for human dignity.
Free will makes moral evil POSSIBLE, not ACTUAL. If moral evil becomes actual that does not make it necesary. Free will does not have to make moral evil possible. (God is free without the possibility of evil; in heaven man is said to be free without the possibility of evil). One can pass from innocence to virtue through temptation without moral evil.
Conclusion: It does not make sense for evil to exist in this world.
The whole good vs. evil is just one of many points I have. Just because you get a little information for/against a subject does not mean you should jump headlong into believing.
You have a brain - use it.
I do not believe that we can ever really know, at least not at this point. I will simply follow reason and see if I come to a conclusion. But there is no sense in devoting my life to something just because it gives me hope for the afterlife.

Many asteroids are dated as older than Earth rocks since they cooled more quickly. Carbon cannot be used to date meteoric rocks (even carbonaceous chondrites) or most terrestrial rocks, because they are too old for the timescale. Other isotope systems work wonderfully.
Based on the mindless cut and paste content you've provided, atheists are clearly smarter.

The rocks out in space are some of the same stuff that was used to make earth! Duh! You can not prove those eight items either, so is being "bright" just saying god did it?
In order to be an atheist, one must have no belief in god or gods, Thats it!
Dead matter? You do realize for something to be considered "dead" at some point it had to be "alive"?
