Why or why not?

N.B. I am not trying to condemn gays to Hell, and I'm not trying to say that Christianity is evil, as I am a gay Christian.

I am. I was raised Catholic, and I did leave the church as a teenager partly because I knew that I wasn't an "abomination to God," and that the Christian attitude about sex in general, and homosexuality in particular, was hypocritical and ridiculous. But I like to think I would've reached the same conclusions about "God" anyway. I admit that realizing I was gay was a motivating factor in my leaving Christianity, but my position on God and religion as it stands now is the product of years of study of all religions. Not all gay people are led to the same conclusions I was.

no they all aren't. and there is no answer to the why or why not. why are all straights not atheists, why are all staights not christians. Why doesn't everyone just believe in the same thing. There is no answer to this. Some people may have a certain lifestyle but it won't change their spiratual beliefs. I know this because a friend of mine who is gay, also believes in the man upstairs.

There seem to be as many gay Christians as gay atheists.
Atheists just seem to have better things to do with their lives than judge and condemn others, so maybe gay atheists are just more open with their sexuality.

I haven't found that to be true. I know some gay people who are regular church goers. If in fact, some gays are atheists, it could be because of the Biblical reference to homosexuality as being against the word of God.

well there is obviously there is a reason that you asked this question, you might be wondering if they are gay they must be atheist because God's wishes do not entail same sex relationships. well i would not go that far because if theyre gay straight or whatever ppl have their own beliefs and i wouldnt have posted this question to be honest you might get some pretty rude responses from a person that is gay.. haha good luck with life dude

Just cuz the bible condems Gay people, why should they be small minded too and condem a belief in a God that is more superior than the man-made and somewhat 'edited book'.

this is my opion and is not an attack on someone elses beliefs, bible, or interpretation of 'God'.

There's no way I'm gonna get 10 points for answering what I consider an expecially stupid question. Homosexuals and lesbians are people who simply enjoy a different sexual preference than you. Atheism (non-belief) and various religions are not (repeat are not) part of the equation.

No....there are gay religious groups all over the US.

They give each other support and help them navigate the barriers that some of society has put up.

Yes-Yes-Yes-Yes-Yes-Yes-Yes
Romans 1:19-32 KJV
(19) Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
(20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
(21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
(22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
(23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
(24) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
(25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
(26) For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
(27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
(28) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
(29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
(30) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
(31) Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
(32) Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
