According to the International Monetary Fund and CIA World Factbook, Luxembourg is the richest country with a GDP - Per Capita of 81,511 and 71,400 respectively.

It depends on what kind of 1perspective are you looking for; when we are talking about GDP here, the U.S.A. is still, no doubt, the richest country in the world. However, if we are talking about GDP per capita (GDP divided by the population), then, the other answerers are right: it's Luxembourg who is the richest country. :)
