Would they get bigger because there's more muscle? Or smaller because there's less fat. That's always confused me.

Of which do you have most now? Are your legs rather fat? Working them out would remove the fat and make them smaller. Are they mostly muscle? Working out would expand the muscles and make them bigger. It's always going to be a confusing question because there isn't one answer that's correct for everyone all the time.

It depends what kind of exercises you do. If you ride a bike or run or do some other kind of cardiovascular exercise, they will get smaller because you are burning fat. Also the muscles will have more endurance but they won't really get bigger this way. However, if you do some kind of squats or work out with them lifting weights, then they will get bigger because the muscles will grow. This will not give you more endurance, you will just be able to exert more pressure with them, er, they will be stronger.

That all depends on what results you want from your workout. You can workout and just lose the fat and increase muscle tone, therefore keeping legs the same size or you can go for the extra muscle and do more exercises to get the bigger legs. The more you workout the bigger and more defined your muscles will become, but you would also have to increase the amount of weight your using to get the muscle size or use same weight to get muscle tone and also depends on number of reps. you do as well. If you want toned, well defined muscles use the same amount of weight and do the same number of reps. consistently. If you want to increase your muscle size, once you feel comfortable with the amount of weight you are using then increase the amount of weight and do the same number of reps. or maybe increase them but don't overdue because you can also damage your muscles permanently by overdoing it. Also make sure to drink plenty of fluids because your muscles use the water to heal themselves. If you really want to increase your muscle size quicker then you can use creatine or protein powder(follow directions for both) or both at the same time. Using both will definately make your muscles bigger and stronger. You also need to eat the right foods as well. Either one or both will almost double the outcome depending on what you want to happen. The creatine causes your muscles to absorb more water when taken right before or after workout to help speed the healing process and protein is what the muscle needs to grow. I could go on and on about this as I have done extensive research on the subject. I take both the creatine and protein powder for the double benifit. Also one last thing, don't just drink water. Drink other fluids such as juice or gatorade, and milk because to much water will just flush the nutients out of your system.

It depends on what kind of workout you are doing and what your legs were like before you start working out. If you have a lot of excess fat on your legs, I would recommend doing a routine of cardio to burn calories about 3 times a week and a routine of weight training 3 times a week. If you do many repetitions on a weight machine using a relatively low weight you will tone and define your legs without increasing muscle mass. If you try to lift heavier and heavier weights less frequently you will be more likely to build muscle mass and increase the size of your legs.

It depends on the workout you are doing. If you are doing an intense workout by lifting heavy then you will certainly build muscle and your legs will get bigger. If you lift light weights and do a lot of reps will tone your legs and fat will disappear so they might get smaller.

It'll make them smaller if you do cardio because it's burning the fat. Running, biking and swimming are good for that. They could get bigger if you only weight lifter because you'd only be building muscle.

Depends what kind of working out you do? Depending on what you want your legs to look like you can do the right working out. If you want big muscle, you do heavy weights, slow reps, if you want just toned legs, do low weights with increased reps and some running at medium speed to lose fat and increase muscle endurance.

That advice costs 5 pounds. send it to me via paypal. ;)

Well, both really. Because since your sweating it burns the fat, but since your working out it gains more muscle, which looks better than fat anyways.

It depends on your work out leg. Just do enough to keep your leg muscle in tone (more reps). Your muscle won't get big.
