It's for the drivers. Why it's made public is beyond me.

Hey this is a dangerous sport..Its nice to have a prayer before the race to bless the drivers & teams and their families..as anything can happen. Hey if you do not like it change channels..Its been a part of Nascar for many yrs..I remember way back in the day there was this preacher guy that hauled a little chapel to the race tracks, and conducted services for the drivers and families..

They have done this for years!!1 They do it before every race at the 2 tracks I race on here in my Home State--It is a good thing--More sporting events should do it!!--Look at the NFL For example they dont do it but when a player is hurt on the field while the doctors-paramedics and team trainers are getting the injured player on a stretcher to remove him from the field--What do You see?/ A bunch of players on both teams with their Helmets off in a group on one Knee PRAYING!!! The World would be a better Place If more People were Believers in God and Christians!!!!

The invocation is mostly for the drivers. All the drivers at this time are christian (a lot of them are very religious). Also the inv. is done by the NASCAR'S own driver's church. since they are traveling all the time they have thier own ministery etc. It's not geared to any one religion just christian.

NASCAR isn't only for Christians (or I couldn't watch since I am Atheist) but they are very Christian oriented. They have services every Sunday for the drivers/teams to attend.

Most religious Americans are Christian and its an American sport. A lot of American sports teams pray before the game so its not just NASCAR.

Freedom to practice your faith is part of America. Nascar is Christian oriented. You don't have to pray or say the Pledge of Allegiance, but those who wish to do so have that right.

I guess you could say its kinda like life Insurance--
or Death Ins. If you or any gets killed during the race, his soul has a place to rest for eternity.----------bill
