I found a very interesting site on the web at http://earthsgreatestlawsuit.org/.

The people behind this site say they're planning the "greatest mass filing of lawsuits the earth has ever seen". They say "Each claim will show that the Defendant (organized religion) has engaged in false, misleading, and deceptive conduct in trade, commerce, and/or fundraising". Please visit the site and tell me what you think. Do you think they have a valid case?

I doubt that they'll be successful, but if they're smart, that isn't the point. The point is to hold organized religion accountable for all the terrible things it's responsible for. And I think that's a great idea.

I think that they just might stand a chance at forcing accountability onto religion.
Churches are the only organization that does not show any accounting records to anybody and are immune from auditing.
If they can bring the case to court that will definitely be one of the major issues.

all i can say is that it is impossible to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt the non existence of something. and that would be what they will be up against. that's like telling people that you want to sue them for saying they seen Bigfoot, if it scares you that there might be a Bigfoot around you, you might have a case but first you would have to prove there was no Bigfoot. they would have just as hard a time proving that God doesn't exists as we have proving God does exists

Okay. On the surface I say it seems like a good idea. Why not take their tax free status away from them?

Part of me thinks that would be hilarious to see happen, but I dread the idea of my money being spent on it, because it would probably go on forever and cost a fortune.

there is nothing at all peacfull about what they are doing.
Just more warriors in just one more war of religion.
There is no difference. Saying there is no God is still a fight about God and it is just as immoral.
