I used to teach and grade papers. I didn't have much respect for b_s_, so that prejudiced me against the person's other answers. Unless you have time to spare–rarely true on a written test–leave the difficult question and answer something else. Don't run out of time on something you know because you wasted time on something you didn't!
If you have plenty of time and a teacher with a sense of humor (and teachers grading papers aren't much in the mood for humor), you might try:
"Here is a complete, correct answer: I don't know."

Is it a foreign language exam? It depends. If it is an essay question you should try to write something to at least demonstrate that you can use the language in some way (since it is a language test). If it's multiple choice, always try to guess. If for example it is translating vocabulary or something specific like that, then a wrong answer is a wrong answer. Good luck!

Leave it blank because you're not going to get it right and you waste time by writing something in there.

if you have time you should guess but if you don't have time you just leave it blank and answer the next question.

I usually guess, better than leaving it blank and throwing the points away, you never know they might give you something for having a bash (or you might suprise yourself and get it right...)
