so many JWs on these boards say the Witnesses during 1975 who took to heart "suggestions" made by JW leadership that Armageddon would happen at that time were "overzealous" and that if they'd been around, they would have behaved differently than the brothers and sisters of that time.

Am I to believe JWs today pick and choose which directives or "suggestions" they will follow? WOW.

The first time I second guessed a directive was when I chose to attend college and get a bachelor's degree. Back then, that was a big no-no. At first, I yielded to the pressure, and unfortunately I turned down some scholarships. But then once I was out of high school, it started to dawn on me that I needed to be able to take care of myself and my future family. So, I rebelled and whaddya know? Two years into my college career, the organization changed its directives slightly and now I know lots of JWs who go to college.

Should JWs question their organization? I think so, but they will seldom do it if they've been sufficiently brainwashed. Even if they haven't it still takes a great deal of courage given the consequences because to question the organization is deemed "apostasy" and is cause for removal from the congregation. But hey, for every door that closes, another opens, and in this case....MANY open.

In answer on your unique question "Does the Governing physique concern the internet"... at the same time as i'm no longer a member of suggested team, i does not think of so, from now on than maximum persons concern vehicles, television, domestic dogs, and so on. As for something of your "rant" no i does not say that is "real". i've got examine various claims at here that Witnesses do no longer even bypass on line. Which of direction is merely laughable. Is it real that Witnesses, as Christians, and for that rely, people of *on the least* some intelligence, are careful on line??? You wager. Is figuring out to be careful on line a "Witness" ingredient??? NOPE. examine maximum/ANY tech magazines or books coping with the internet, and you will discover Repeated warnings approximately being careful on line. As for the increasingly extra laughable "rev"s remark approximately Witnesses in lots of situations going surfing in pairs ... oy ... i think of there comes a factor the place IDs end bothering to aim to make their accusations look real. no longer some time past, that comparable identity the two suggested hoping Witnesses might quickly dedicate suicide, and then extra these days suggested the Earthquake as being extra/much less a stable ingredient because it probable killed a lot of religion(s) different than his. How unhappy.

Note in this text "apostate" is anyone that does not agree in their mind with the FADS (faithful and discreet slave A.K.A. WTB&TS)
_______________

The written official policy stated, under the heading "Protecting the Flock":

This idea was not quoted nor a direct reference given, as was always a custom of Jehovah's Witnesses letters to Overseers.

“ Keep in mind that to be disfellowshipped, an apostate does not have to be a promoter of apostate views. As mentioned in paragraph two, page 17 of the August 1, 1980, Watchtower, "The word 'apostasy' comes from a Greek term that means "a standing away from,' 'a falling away, defection,' 'rebellion, abandonement.' Therefore, if a baptized Christian abandons the teachings of Jehovah, as presented by the faithful and discreet slave, the 144,000, as represented by the Govening Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, and persists in believing other doctrines despite Scriptural reproof, then he is apostatizing. Extended, kindly efforts should be put forth to readjust his thinking. However, if, after such extended efforts have been put forth to readjust his thinking, he continues to believe the apostate ideas and rejects what he has been provided through the 'slave class' then appropriate judicial action should be taken.

When months have stretched into yeas and even into decades, it would be wise to to study the whole Bible rather than focus narrowly on certain verses highlighted in Watchtower publications. JWs are forced to believe what the magazine says, even though the Lord Himself encouraged us, not to try to calculate ahead of time just when He would return, but rather to be ready as if He might come at any time.

It is evident that they rather believe what their organization says than what our Lord asks us to do. God's Word is the same past, present and future. Watchtower organization improvises, and members better back them up.

No we dont second guess what we know comes from holy spirit inspired by our God Jehovah. What would be the point to go against what we know is our protection and guide. They are put in their places by spirit and we follow what Jehovahs will is and adhere strictly to the bible on those taking the lead.Dont paint 75 with such a broad brush the governing body never issued such a steadfast statement.ONly Jah know the day and time.

Not if they want to stay Jehovah's Witnesses, they don't. Loss of salvation, Apostacy and loss of family and loved ones is the threat.

Cute. Even in the time of Jesus followers made mistakes, that is something that won't change till the new system.
