First off, eat some carbs before you start drinking. If you have food in your stomach, it soaks up the alcohol and it will take more for you to get drunk. Anything like bread or saltines will help a lot. In your case, just make sure to avoid ever drinking on an empty stomach.
Next, you can drink water while you are drinking alcohol, it will help sober you up and dilute the alcohol a bit. This helps you stay sober as well as sober you up. Some people use coffee, but that sort of inconvenient if you are in a social setting.
Also, I agree with everyone before, drinking fast gets you drunk faster. Also, the more experience you have with drinking, the more you will slowly build up more of a tolerance to alcohol and thus will take much more liquor for you to get drunk.
Hope that helps a bit :)

Oh my...no, drinking fast does NOT prevent you from getting drunk too quickly. It does the opposite!! That is common sense.
Drink slower, eat a big meal before you drink, drink water in between each drink.
Nothing wrong with drinking in moderation, but you can get yourself in some pretty bad situations by drinking to the point where you can't stand.

Eat some carbohydrate-rich food about an hour or less before you drink. Eat some plain foods, not too greasy.
Drinking fast will NOT cause you to get drunk slower. Drinking this way will make you feel like you just got run over by a Vodka truck. The first half hour, you may feel fine, but after that you go downhill, fast. DRINK SLOWLY.

Drink less, drink slower and eat alongside it.
It's not a competition.
Drinking fast means you get drunk a lot quicker. And getting so intoxicated that you can hardly stand is not just embarrasing -it's dangerous too.
Reading between the lines, you don't sound very confident. My advice would be to work on your self esteem and quit fixating on how to be a better binge drinker!
It's not cool to drink loads. It is bad for you, and bad for your liver, and full of empty calories. Get a hobby. Learn bass guitar. Or knitting. Or bake a cake..
edit: I had a quick look at your profile. Hope you don't mind. If you're still on that medication, then that's the reason you get so drunk. That stuff affects your liver enzymes and it's really NOT SAFE to drink on top of it, plus it will make the original illness worse.

About once a week I meet some friends for a hard drinking session... we drink about 3 big bottles of whisky... As a result I have developed a high alcohol tolerance so when I am at the pub etc.... I never get drunk anymore...

Women have less water in their blood to dilute the alcohol, compared to men. This is why women get drunk faster than men do. Everyone's tolerance level is different, but generally women's bodies are much different in consuming alcohol than men.
You drink every week, and you say you're not an alcoholic? You obviously have some kind of problem. You should speak with your physician because consuming that much alcohol a few times a week is probably damaging your liver.

No, drinking fast will not stop you getting drunk! If you drink slower you will know when you're starting to get drunk so you can have a glass of water when you start feeling drunk. If you drink too fact, feeling drunk will suddenly hit you rather than being gradual.
Make sure you eat a decent balanced meal before you drink, including protein fat and especially carbs (bread is good), and drinking milk lines your stomach before you start drinking.

Simple solution... No way around it... Plenty of food so chow on a nice sandwich or buffet, then drink. Watch your shots! PERIOD! No way around that, either. Good rule of thumb - stomach full of food, just a couple of shots (not 10 or 20+) and have a drink or two per hour. Then you can last without a bad hangover. Remember to drink water as you go along and during the night. Also, take milk thistle for your liver afterwards. This will prolong your lifestyle and life. HAVE FUN!!!!

Set yourself to a specific limit, probably like one drink. After that bring a water bottle and drink that for the rest of the night. You may not want to do that once your in this situation again, but in the long run it will be worth it. Also, even if your not an alchoholic now, its easier to become one than to stop once your at that stage, so be careful! Best of luck.

a good meal/snack before,
Make sure who ever makes your drink is not "OVER POURING"
Don't drink anything that is carbonated..the bubbles help the alcohol into blood.....no champagne (no soda, coke, 7-up etc.)
Wines, stay away from red wines they normaly have higher alcohol content then white and and can be more sweeter.
Stay away from ScrewDrivers,TomCollins, Long Island Ice Tea's, all of this type are easy to drink fast......
Drink blender or mixed cocktails. Good sipping drinks..Manhattan's, Stinger, Rusty Nail's (my favorite) Margrarettas, Black/White Russians
Don't be a "power drinker", no contest...excessive fast consumption can lead to alcohol poisining. No Slammers,chug-a-lug contest, etc.
