so most of you guys are saying "are you serious? Is it that bad?" no it isnt that bad at all. What im trying to get through to you guys is that the navy is a JOKE. Our master at arms at the gate dont even have guns. Are you serious? is this really the military? THey have me cleaning because im undesignated, and i chose undesignated because i was going to be an AO but i wanted to go to bootcamp early. I was lied to so much by the recruiter about striking and stuff like that, some character the military has, lieing to you in every way you can. And now here my chain of command is absolutely retarded and just want me to be undesignated and become a boatswain mate, THAT ISNT ME. I do NOTHING all day after i sweep for 10 min. in the morning and that is how its gonna be for a while. So WHY THE HELL would i wanna waste my time with this when i could get out and start working where i already was again and save money to go to school. the Navy is absolutely stupid and a waste of my time.waytolie!

YOUR Choice to go in Undesignated. do NOT blame the Navy for your personal actions and choices. 'choose your rate, choose your fate' you will NOT be given the opportunity to Strike for anything if the attitude you convey here is also seen by your LPO, Chief and DIVO. If all you do is ***** about how crappy your job is, guess what, nobody is gonna give you any opportunity to improve your lot in life. But if you come to work and work hard, go out of your way to do more than what you are tasked with doing, your CoC will see and take notice.
Here's the PERFECT opportunity to take a crappy situation and turn it to your advantage. Get some collateral duties. Work on ESWS. Get some Pubs and start studying for AO.

You go into the military without a guaranteed job and then you get there and piss and moan about it? When you do that, you are assigned "at the needs of the service". You sound what a recruiter would refer to as "a rock with lips". You're the dummy who signed, live with it.

they didn't lie to you, you neglected to find out anyone else's point of view before you signed the dotted line. never join undeesignated. when my hubby joined, i specificly made him go by himself the first time. and then i went with him the second time. he knew he couldn't run the same game on us and that was the end of it. what i suggest to everyone thinking about the military take someone who knows what's going on with you to ask questions. as for your question, suck it up and deal with it, make the best of it because you are still going to have to do the time.

You want out of the Navy, well fail 3 PRT's, you will get a full honorable discharge, and for those who have over 6 years of service, will get payed to go...........Don't run around running your mouth, do your job everyday, and when PRT comes around, do a few push-ups, sit-ups, and make sure you fail the run..............3 and out..........it works.
