ive seen ppl claim that everyone masturbates but if it is a sin then does that mean most people commit this sin? And people do this quite frequently like 3 times a week or everyday. Do ppl not think it is a sin b/c most ppl say they masturbate and also say it is a sin.

Yea, if 95 percent of people do masturbate. I'm guessing 5 percent of men are only go to heaven. They're all hypocrites, when I was a Christian I never masturbated, I swear. Here's a star for reminding me to masturbate.

Here's the deal. What people say is a "sin" is something that is subjective. Meaning it's up to that person. I have been taught by people in my church (though nothing "official" from the church itself) that masturbation is wrong for many reasons. Such as it is sexually "impure", it is a selfish thing to do, it will lead to addiction to pornography, it will cause an individual to have "unhealthy" sexual desires. However, I have been masturbating regularly since I was 11 years old and none of that ever happened to me. I am happily married now with three kids and my wife and I enjoy a great sex life. Masturbation has not made our sex life worse, it has made it better. Masturbation is good for you. Lying about it, being ashamed about it, or hiding it from your life partner is what causes the problems, not the act itself.

Well, the simple fact of being human is a sin (original sin) so my thoughts on it is this: We are all sinners, and that's ok. There is no way we can't be, its just what we are. So what we should do is make sure that we don't sin to much and be a good person in our every day lives. I jack it all the time and I still think the big guy upstairs is cool with me.

While I am now an agnostic, I was raised as a Catholic -- so will answer from their point of view. Nowhere in scripture or the teachings of Christian churches does it say that something that everyone does is not a sin. On the contrary, we are told that we are all sinners.

That's all a bunch of crap from people who want to use God or religion as a means of controlling people. With all the real evil in the world, god really has better things to think about than whether or not anyone's pulling it.

Max--for what other reason would you do it???? "Pleasure" isn't a sin. Self-righteousness is.

Yeah it's still a sin but not as big of a sin as killing someone. But then again a sin is sin, so it could be measured up the same.

Btw, im not 100% sure that masturbation is a sin.

I do remember a Scripture in the Bible back in the Old Testament referring to this; It's better to spill your seed in the belly of a whore than spill it on the ground. I don't remember if it is called sin, surely not, or Heaven is not going to have any men there. What in the world are the women going to do? We won't have anyone to say honey do or honey don't. LOL

In all of history there has been no greater atrocity commited against humanity than the concept of sin.

Masturbation, yet another issue unworthy of the Creator of the Universe's consideration.

It was never a sin, these are the verses they always use:
Gen 38:9 & Gen 38:10
(unless you count lust as a sin, which you can always think about how sexy You are, god's little loop hole) lol

Onan was suppose to get his dead bro's wife pregnant, instead he pulled out.
