I have this phone that is a pay as you go phone and it is really tiny and annoying. My grandma told me she would buy me a brand new phone, but now shes saying that she'll just activate my pay as you go phone so it not a pay as you go any more. I absolutly HATE that phone, and she already told me that she would buy me a new one. I am way beyond mad, and i need some yahoo answers.

Tell what you just told us to your g-ma. Maybe she'll be polite about it and get you a new phone. If not? What harm is done; she can't be mad at you for asking, can she..?
I also know some of my friends who get jobs at a local place and work like 2.5 hrs after school 3 times a week and eventually they got themselves paying their own phones - just throwing it out there.

Look.. to have someone that is willing to take care of you, since obviously you don't have any money... is an amazing thing. Do not get mad because your phone is "ugly". Do you realize how many people don't even HAVE phones? Do you realize there are adult men and women who have young children at home, who may NEED a phone if, god forbd, something happens to that child? There are millions of people in this world that would be so grateful to have your 'ugly' phone. Maybe your grandma doesn't have all the money in the world to pay for something as dumb as a new phone that isn't ugly and tiny and annoying. If you hate it that much, give it back and do without.
You REALLY need to take a look at what you have. You have a grandma that cares about you enough to give you activation on your phone. You need to thank her and give her a hug. If you are old enough... go out there and get a job. Pay your own phone.. get whatever kind of phone you want... buy your grandma a gift for being so generous and loving to you, Courtney. Walk a mile in her shoes and grow up a little, ok?

Its just a phone deal with it. I mean there are a lot worse things in this world then an ugly phone. Or here is an ideal get a job or if you have your own job pay for a new one.
Hard lesson in life is most people have to work for what they want.

Just ask her to use a new provider, then you can get a new free phone with the plan...or maybe the current provider will give you free phone for signing up for however long you do. Free phones are the way I go and they are still pretty cool! Look up some free phones from the major providers, you'll see what I mean!

I am sure you are disappointed that your grandma promised you a new phone and didn't follow through. Sometimes we have to appreciate what is. She is going to do something very nice for you that she doesn't have to do at all. I would appreciatte that and also respect the value of what goes into what she is doing for you. Be glad you have a phone at all!!

I didn't get my first cell phone until I was 25-26 years old! And I won it!
Maybe you can negotiate with your grandmother? Do some chores or other household favors? Some of my students have to get very high GPAs in order to get a cell phone from their parents.

I totally know what u mean! What kind of phone is it? Try getting a cover to make it prettier, or since you want a new one, craigslist.com or ebay is awesome, and on craigslist, some stuff is free! so you can save your money to buy accessories
