If you were slapped on the face by another man, how will you react?

1- Turn the other cheek (as suggested by the bible)
2- Just as if nothing happened.
3- blame/insult him
4- Slap him just in the same way he did.
5- Beat the crap out of him
6- Kill him

It seems I'm the only one who chose the 6th option.

Slap is actually hurting both physically and psychologically. Its pain as well as insult.

So, it depend upon situation, I would first try to know why I am slapped, because of my mistake or not? also depend upon who slapped me. Who among us are physically strong and among the surrounding people who can support me if issue becomes severe. Is police likely to come in case of full fledge fighting etc etc.
as per my personal prefernece I would slap him back if the person slap without any reason, However, in reality my reaction would be totally subjected to my state of mind at that very moment.

The passage in the Sermon on the Mount you are alluding to is indeed hard to understand. If you want to learn some very good meditation principles that can help explain such passages (and would also help with Koran perhaps), check out "Meditation, imagery, delivery" audio MP3s at www.prayercentermedia.com - he has broken down and found explanations for some of the most difficult verses in the New Testament.

I personally would be inclined to resentment, and might hit back, although I'm not a very physically courageous person. Jesus' teaching only makes sense if you are trying to win a man's soul (so he receives salvation, that is).

LMAO @ mysterous....I'm actually an Aries Moon and Cancer Mars lol I think the fire signs and Scorpio would beat their ***, the earth and air signs would slap them back and Cancer and Pisces would probably be shocked/upset and may or may not slap them back (some would, some wouldn't). BQ: I would beat their ***...I respect everyone, regardless of whether I like them or not. So if you disrespect me by slapping me, then you get what's coming.

Turning the other cheek when slapped in biblical times was an insult. One was claiming equal status with the slapper. The person who slapped, could not slap the opposite cheek, because of the cleanliness laws. One could only slap a slave or one considered lesser than the status person; if the status person slapped with the right hand it was considered assault on another EQUAL, no matter what the status of the person was, even if he/she were slave. There were penalties for slapping with the right hand, it was a crime in biblical days to use that hand for certain things.

You forgot one: call the law, and that is exactly what I would do. I would never give a reason for anyone to hit me, and if someone ever did hit me, they need to spend some time locked up in a room.

Another poster enlightened me on the subject of self-defense. OUr bodies are the 'temple of the Lord" and we are commanded to take care of it.
If I were a man, and someone slapped me on the face, it would obviously mean he wants to duel because I've never heard of men slapping other men except in that context.
Stop him from slapping you either by asking him to stop, turning the other cheek until he gets burned out, praying, or whatever it takes, including beating the crap out of him.
kill him? No, that would be using excessive force, is probably is not necessary to make him stop.

Depend the situation and what happened and how much was I to be blamed for it.

I would say 1 or 4 and very exceptional 5, but like I said depends.

I know the bible says turn the other cheek, but I don't think I will. More than likely I'll slap back and then pray for forgiveness. I'm serious.

If He or SHE is my parent, teacher or someone I respect, and I realise the slap was for my good, I'll accept it with a bowed head.

If I am at least as strong as HE is, I'd slap him back. If I am stronger than HER, I'd just walk away.

If HE is stronger than me, I'd slap him and run away as fast as I can.

Depends on the situation though.
