no i dont think you were out of order i would have wanted one too . sometimes its the older ones that are worse than the teenagers they can be quite rude and walk on when you hold a door open and not a word of thanks x

No you were not out of order. I think you were right he did owe you and your daughter an apology. I feel sorry for a man like him. There are so many people in the world today with no feelings for others, you see it in the forms of road rage, children with guns in schools, people barging into YOUR home and holding you and your family at gun point for their own pleasure. You were very brave indeed for he may have had gun a pulled it out and killed you and your child and several others in the market. We need to pray for people like him and pray that this world will get back to a simple way of life filled with more love than anger. I am so sorry that your poor little girl had do see this at such a young age; can you imagine what life will be like when she grows up if it continues the way it is going?

You can't help who you are forced to socialize with in public.

I would have done something similar too.

Take care though, the way it is these days ya never know what wackos out there are thinking especially with guns becoming a bigger problem more and more. He was probably just an old dumb fart, and it didn't cross his mind that others exist.

I gotta admit when I was pregnant a lot of stuff really easily pushed me over the edge more so than normally. But you were right.

Poor kiddie give her a hug.

NO U WERE TOTALLY RIGHT at the end of the day he assaulted your child and if was one of mine i would of picked up a basket and smacked him in the face with it to see how he liked it some people are really horrible. im 24 and that is disgusting if i had done it and not realised and you had come over i would of gone out of my way to make sure the child was ok. 28wks preganant or not you did the right thing you protected your child. me on the other hand probably would of caused a massive scene i could of done that on my own with the twins in my belly Im really annoyed now i want to tell him off i can feel my blood boiling haha
Hope shes ok now tho

Of course you weren't out of order - pregnant or not you were well entitled to be annoyed about that. Personally I would have tracked him down & smacked him round the head with my basket & asked how he liked it! I would have created a big scene to show him up & hopefully that would have embarrassed him into apologising.

Just goes to show that no matter how old some people have no manners. If you see him again run into him with your trolley or something & then tell him to f**k off if he wants an apology!

I would have knocked the old git out....65 or not he was just a bad person...people always swing their baskets round in the supermarket...I lost count of the times my 3 year old has nearly been bashed...you did the right thing asking for an apology...its a lesson learned for your little girl that not all people are nice....next time complain to management....tell your little girl that everytime something horrid happens then something twice as nice is just round the corner.

No you weren't out of order, just idealistic. What made you think a jerk that would smack into a baby with a shopping basket would apologize? You'd have been better off and would have spared her delicate ears had you just went and reported to the manager there was a crazed elder running thru the store knocking over small children, and as he'd already smacked your kid, you thought he should be aware for the safety of others.

I remember when this huge woman walked right into my daughter in the doctors once, she went flying, she didnt even apologise and my daughter was in floods of tears.

I just gave her a dirty look and said to my daughter "Ignore the rude lady, her mummy obviously didnt teach her to say sorry"

My daughter was soon smiling again, its better to leave with the upperhand in a situation like this.

I felt like smacking her in the face to be honest, but thats teaching my daughter bad things so I had to deal with it more politely!

Id of smacked anyone who told me to f off infront of my child though!

Well done for being so polite! I wouldnt of been!

I think that's disgraceful behaviour.....on his part. I would certainly have gone after him too. How sad that his response was to swear at you rather than show concern for a little one. Makes me so annoyed.

You're so right though....the 'older' generation are very quick to describe the younger gen' as "rude, ignorant and disrespectful". He hasn't done any favours for his own age group has he??

Truly hope your little girl is alright now and not scarred for life by the man's aggression. xxx

if someone, anyone hit my little girl accident or not i would be angry, how rude of the man to tell you to **** off and in front of your little girl too sounds to me some of the older generation need to learn a little respect.
i hope you and your daugter are both ok ,there are some idiots in the world and we can do without them causing chaos when all good mothers want to bring up our children in a safe and peaceful enviroment.
Good for you for confronting him and if id have been you but not pregnant i would have given him a slap

Absolutley not that old fool should have apologized immediately. Has everyone lost their sense of common descency and respect?! I hope he didnt unleash any children of his own on the world to continue his legacy of complete and total disrespect for fellow people. Lets be glad for those few people that do remember the golden rule! Your daughter also learned an important lesson that she has the right to ask for an apology. Keep up the good work.
