It`s an antidepressant. Is One 20mg tablet the normal dose or is this a low dose. What`s the usual?

citalopram come in 10,20,40 and 80mg tablets 20mg being the most usual one prescribed. but as others have said it depends on the indvidual

A normal starting dose and it may not need increasing from that. Many people find this dose sufficient although it depends on the severity of the depression and the tolerance of the individual.

I took 20mg (the starting dose), but some people need more. 'Normal' depends on your body. What's normal for you may not be normal for me.

usual is 20 mg. I have been on 40 mg for about 6 months. They say there is no benefits to more then 40mg. Studies done by drs. say if 40 doesnt work switch medications.
