If you believe in evolution, all these things are a part of that, and there is no other answer, or reason to look for one. Everything is just a curious but natural result of some strange and astronomical coincidences, which take great faith to believe.
This also means that there is no reason for life ("reason for life" meaning some being capable of reasoning, planed all this.) No reason, no value.
The universe is pointless (and logicaly, it must be so, unless someone had a point in puting it here) and if people die or suffer, it doesn´t matter unless you put artificial meaning to it.

If, God The Creator, has awakened you to the great invitation he has made through the Holy Offering given in the brutal and bloody suffering of Jesus Christ, you can see that all this is the natural outcome of rebellion towards God.
You can only know this if God has touched you personaly.
It isn't a matter of logic, or intelect and is not a result of believing the Bible. It is the knowing of God.

So your God created deforestation, pollution, over-population, war, genocide and natural disasters?
And you want me to worship Him, why exactly?

actually i would say that deforestation, pollution and war are all linked to over population - and isn't it theism that's big on the whole go forth and multiply thing.

You'll have to point out the book where it says that deforestion, pollution, over population and war are linked to evolution.

If you say so, but in all honesty I don't spend all my day dwelling on how the universe came to be

I make my own purpose in life. Do you know what the purpose of your life is? Is it to worship god? or is part of gods mysterious plan that no one knows about. I'm not sure worshipping something is a great reason detre and not knowing is not really any different to not having a particular reason

Yeah funny how you can't actually manage to produce anything other than ignorant increduality as evidence for your god's existance

Deforestation, pollution, overpopulation, and war are not natural. These things are a result of human beings believing that we "deserve" whatever the Earth has to offer, and we'll rip it apart to get it. If the Christian religion (and all others) would teach that the Earth IS God, we would have far more respect for Her. The arrogant belief that humans, with our "superior" intelligence, were put here on Earth to enjoy everything we see, and the belief that everything we see belongs to us, is what's tearing up the Earth.

Atheists don't think that pollution and deforestation is "natural". Overpopulation, however, *is* what naturally happens when people don't use birth control.
Overpopulation, pollution, and deforestation has nothing to do with "not believing in the Bible." People have believed in the Bible for centuries, and there is still pollution, deforestation, and over-population. (In fact, there would be less overpopulation if religious people didn't encourage people not to use birth control.) Ironically, it's overpopulation that leads to pollution and deforestation, so if anything, the argument could be presented that it's the religious who encourage pollution and deforestation DUE to their interpretations of the Bible, not atheists.

atheists are definitely natural. The term 'natural' is only suitable to reference non-technological phenomena, it does not have ethical implications. The fact that people do bad things is not a coincidence: people are by and large selfish bastards, or at least nearsighted and scared. If you want to call that rebellion against god be my guest. But this is still an issue of direct cause and effect of human actions, no divine intervention necessary. The world is not such a mess as god's punishment for our immorality, but as a direct consequence of our immorality.

If the solar system was brought about by an accidental collision, then the appearance of organic life on this planet was also an accident, and the whole evolution of Man was an accident too. If so, then all our present thoughts are mere accidents - the accidental by-product of the movement of atoms. And this holds for the thoughts of the materialists and astronomers as well as for anyone else's. But if their thoughts - i.e., Materialism and Astronomy - are mere accidental by-products, why should we believe them to be true? I see no reason for believing that one accident should be able to give me a correct account of all the other accidents. It's like expecting the accidental shape taken by the splash when you upset a milk-jug should give you a correct account of how the jug was made and why it was upset.

Wait a minute...

Just because we evolved does not mean that evolution is responsible for everything human beings do. We have intelligence, and we are developing technological mastery over many of our natural limitations. Ultimately, we have control over our own actions, and to some extent our own destiny. Bringing supernatural beings into the argument only complicates things in an unrealistic way.

The idea that a "meaning to life" can only derive from a creator is untrue---life has intrinsic meaning and value.

The arguement that evolution does not exist just because we have problems is simply absurd.

may i just say... i don't understand why ppl say that evolution (strictly based on logic) is wrong nd religion or belief in god is right but then nearly every single one of these religious ppl rely on computers, medicine, tv, the radio, cars ...etc ...etc... which these things would never exist without logic, or rational thinking. and you should know that life will always go on, even if the human race died, more life would evolve. also, it is not atheists causing these bad happenings, itz man kind that your supposed 'god' created. may i ask... wat did the dinosaurs do to become extinct? which before humans there was no religion.... funny that... because humans became advanded and realised how cold life can be sometimes, sothey invented a 'god' to comfort those times

Most Christians are of a masochistic orientation... Most of them believe that Jesus will return someday and fix the world... so why bother? They take a back seat and watch the rest of the world survive...

"It isn't a matter of logic, or intelect"

I disagree. Religion lies about the fact that it has answers to the questions we all seek. We just don't have all the answers. Atheists know this. Religious people just make up fables and follow arbitrary rules.

So you believe that god creates deforestation,pollution,over-population and war.
I assume that also goes for hunger and disease.
Why would I want to worship to such a malevolent being
