Sadly not only the USA - Aus is getting pretty bad too (but the US is by FAR FAR FAR the worst. DAMN it's scary what's happening)

Anyway, nobody who's actually in the medical field uses the term 'average weight' these days. It's all 'healthy' weight - which is defined as the weight range with the longest life expectancy.

GREAT question. I think it means that in this country we are all headed for a heart attack and perhaps that is the way to get rid of the problem of over population. We are eating ourselves to death. Maybe our children will learn not to eat and drink like their parents did!
