Someone recently told me about this program and it would really help me out if I could enroll my almost 4 yo in it. Also we pay childsupport for another kid, will they take that into consideration?

I do agree with you gurly gurl.... I just know that I won't be able to get a job without childcare ahead of time... I don't like the system either, but unfortunately it's the only one we have right now.

If you can get by without the job, you may be better off to let your child go to starfall.com, or let them go there even if you do work and they go to a program somewhere. because this alone will give your child a great start in school. Every parent I have recommended it to has told me how it has helped and is a great example of what can be done if your schools used that to teach rather than some of the methods used now.

I don't know since I live in VA, but headstart seems to be income based here too.

I'm curious though, more and more experts are suggesting that children go to Pre-School or they'll be behind in Kindergarten so why make it income based. I know the rich and wealthy usually their own private headstarts and schools to send their children but where does that leave the broad middle class they don't qualify for the income based headstart/preschool or the well-to-do elite private schools?
