I hear all the time how hard Marine boot camp is and how tough you have to be to get through special forces and Navy SEAL training. I just wanted to know is army BCT that hard too.

It just depends on which one you go to. I would like to think they are all challenging and respectful. I personally believe that Ft Jackson, SC was a challenge for me, but everyone states that Ft Jackson was relaxing. Sorry basic is basic. As far as I am concerned, all of basic training in the Army has a since of urgency to do the right thing.

if your implying that bct is a cakewalk, its not. It's hard, but it is different wherever you do basic. For example, somebody with a finance MOS going through basic at ft. jackson is not going to have the same experience as the infantryman at ft. benning, or the artilleryman at ft. sill. But it is difficult, and its not for everybody. And marine corps bootcamp isnt "impossible". The only real difference than parris island and ft. benning are little differences. Drill Instructor for marines, Drill Sergeant for army. "Aye sir" for marines, "yes drill sergeant" for army, etc. You may not know this, but marines are KNOWN for telling tall tales and exaggerated stories. Leave it to a marine to make up some sh*t about how "on the 7th day God rested, and the MARINES TOOK OVER!! OORAH!!" bullsh*t. It just all stems from a rivalry dating back to the revolutionary war. Good luck. Ranger school aint no joke. Before you can even get accepted into ranger school, you have to go through RIP, which isnt much of a joke itself.

As a retired army sergeant I can tell you that BCT is as hard as it needs to be to give you a background in the military and to be sure you are in physical shape. Hard? sure, as hard as navy seal or SF?, not even close. It is Basic training, Basic weapons, basic hand to hand, basic physical fitness. Will you be in better condition at the end? No doubt. But BCT does not make you a superman.

Military training is really only as hard as you'll allow it to be. The biggest part of any military training is all mental. So long as you make up your mind to do something, and do it well, you can. Basic is about breaking down the individual, as long as you can remember that during your training, you won't have any problems. Any special forces training requires physical strength secondary to mental and intestinal fortitude.

The Army training just as anyother training in the military is difficult but meant to acclimate you to it. Physical and mental stress in the training might be tough but when I went in I looked at the number of people who finished it and the number that did not and told myself "I know I can do as well as most".

No. We have a female general in command of training and doctrine and she has made BCT a kinder gentler place. This is evident of the soldiers I have received since the change. Poor physical shape, lack of discipline, an insubordinate.

It's not how strong your muscles are,it's how big your heart is.
It's not easy, and that's the point. They ( and you) need to find our just how much you can take. They'll crush you and see if you can get back up.
To me a member of the finest club in the world, you haver to pay your dues.
Stick it out, and when the DI yells' ""dismissed " after graduation ceremonies,
then you can call yourself "Marine" and be proud of what you're done. And we'll be proud of you.

YES. If you really want to enlist, do so through a military college. It's much easier and more rewarding. Not only do you get a degree, but if you want to leave, you can, whereas in normal enlistment, leaving gets you imprisoned.

Of course it is. What would be the point otherwise? It is mental and physical. Weed out the weak and unwilling.
