When I cook potatoes I always save the water and pour it in a pint glass and drink it with my meal.

What are the benefits of doing this? And are there any disadvantages?

All the best,

Peadar

Potato water will cure many thing, our body is full of acid, do to what we eat, among other things, drinking the water of potatoe water will flush out the acid, which will get rid of aches and pains. Try boiling 6 potatoes in 1 gallon and a half of water, drinking 1 quart per day, for 3 days, and repeat it every 15 days, also make yourself dandelion tea and drink that everyday.
No more aches and pains.

Personal;ly I use it to make the gravy with. Drinking it on it's own may not be very beneficial since basically it's full of starch and salt but using it for gravy helps thicken it up and means you don't need to add salt. The boiling destroys the vitamin C content also.
