Dear

The male circumcission was started by Prophet Abraham peace be on him earlier to Judaism Prophet Moses peace be on him.

We Muslims call it "Sunnat e Ibrahimi" the practice of Prophet Abraham peace be on him. This Sunnah or practice was followed by all the Followers of Holy prophets after Abraham including Jesus Christ peace be on all of them. But Later it was made non obligatory in Christianity.

Male Circumcision is obligatory on Muslimsas as a part of Religion, while there are lot of health benefits too by it .

It is not practiced By Hindu Religion as a Religious Obligation.

But I have noticed upon the Medical Advice many Hindus among my own friends got circumcised.

Recently it is being supported fully by the Clinical Research that Circumcision helps to avoid spreading of Dreaded desease "Aids" and the women equally are benefitted by it.

The three Abrahamic religions tend to follow the circumcision rule. Hinduism does not; in fact, it's one way for Hindu and Muslim militants to make sure they're killing the right people. There are some African tribes that practice female circumcision, but I think that has more to do with tradition than religious beliefs.

Jews and Muslims usually do it.

However there are many people from Jewish and Muslim descent who don't, and also a bunch of practising Jews who are against it. They have a web site somewhere. In the New Testament it not only says circumcison is not required but actually seems to criticise it.

Other than that no other major religions do it for religious reasons. In the US it is done by Christians and others as a cultural thing, or because people believe myths about it being hygienic, not for religious reasons. Some random places do it as a tribal custom too, some in Africa or Polynesia or places I think.

Other than that most men in the world are left intact.

just about all of human beings do not understand some thing about circumcision or the foreskin, which include the docs who paintings in those fields. in the experience that they fairly knew, circumcision should be eliminated in one day. the international medical community at large regards infant circumcision as unnecessary. this isn't new both; circumcision itself has continually been significantly rejected because there change into in no way sufficient info to help it as a sturdy idea and circumcised adult males were continually contained in the international minority. definite, there are some docs who recommend it, yet they do no longer communicate on behalf of any medical employer; they probable promote it for his or her own own motives besides. the concept circumcision should be executed for the sake of “well-being reward” is a a great deal over-exaggerated declare made by a small minority team of circumcision proponents it really is not any longer in accordance with medical technological knowledge. “Hygiene” might want to no longer be a difficulty in any respect until eventually you've genuinely no purpose of bathing and excellent searching after your own body; cleansing the foreskin is the very similar as the different body area, just about all of uncircumcised adult males will inform you that. just about each and every alleged situation with the foreskin would nicely be effectively dealt with with no need to reduce it off as a drastic degree. many human beings whinge that circumcision can't be compared to woman genital mutilation. the reality is that both were already compared by lots of an similar those who propose both woman genital mutilation and circumcision. They use the very similar arguments for both strategies and say that they are in good structure, cleanser, socially significant, more suitable pleasing, and so on. even if circumcision did furnish a huge type of sensible lifelong medical reward without different option, it ought to nevertheless be unethical and incorrect because it denies actual autonomy.

Lets just get this out of the way, circumcision is genital mutilation. It is also a form of child abuse in my opinion.

It is practiced both by Jews and Muslims, who are really not that different..they are both Semitic peoples, both claim pork is "
unclean", both have taboos about menstruation etc.

The concept of circumcision as a "covenant with Yahweh" is kind of bizarre. First God creates men "in his own image", which presumable means God has a foreskin too. Then he tells them to lop it off. If the Jews really were a "chosen people", don't you think it would be more impressive if they were born without foreskins?

In spite of things you may have read about AIDS and penile cancer, there are no medical reasons for circumcision. These days it tends to be more of a cultural thing..."we want little Johnny to look like daddy" The US and the Phillipines have a fairly high rate of circumcision , but most of the rest of the modern world show declining rates.

Abraham was told be God to be circumcised around 2000 bc

Christians believe in the circumcision of the heart according to the Jewish prophet Jeremiah as promised as part of the New Covenant. In some ways baptism is like circumcision and in some way not. In any case there is an act of God done without hands that is the circumcision of the heart when one has saving faith in Jesus, the Jewish Messiah form the Jews for the World

Many follow circumcision today because of perceived health benefits

Muslims practice circumcision as well. In Islam all male infants have to be circumcised at birth because it is a direct commandment from God. I don't think many Jews practice circumcision anymore.
