I just got out as a Sergeant in the Marines. I was infantry and now i can not find any decent paying jobs because i have almost no marketable skills besides leadership capabilities. I don't want to go back in the Marines but i want to at least profit from my military experience before i go back to school and make the next move with my life.So if anyone knows some decent companies that are hiring that would be a huge help for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much.

There are hundreds of government contractors looking for people. I have been in one government project for over 14 years, yet worked for 4 different contractors. Go do a google.com search for GOVERNMENT CONTRACTORS. I work for ALUTIIQ, for example, and we are all over the place.

Government Contractor is NOT synonymous with companies like Black Water. Personally, I feel BW has a black eye because they DID THEIR JOB like they were hired to, and a few of their people screwed up. Gosh, that has NEVER happened in the military or CIVILIAN world. Not all government contractors are military type. Our company has logistics folks, financial folks, security folks, administrative, heavy equipment operators, etc etc etc. You name a field and we probably have a place for it.

When my brother retired from the Army, he got a job as a recruiter (contractor). Only thing was, he said it was like being in the Army only wearing civilian clothes. He quit after a year.

Didn't your command offere a TRANSISTION course before you got out?

Leadership back ground is a very important skill. I was once offered a job while on lay off from my first civilian job after Navy retirement because of my leadership back ground. I got a 2 week crash course in the job and took over from someone who was a lousy supervisor/leader. Then this job opened in 1993 and I've been here ever since.
Good luck Sarge!

Sorry, but the words "decent" cannot be used in the same sentence as contracting companies and blackwater, until these firms are held accountable for the damage they are doing to the reputation of the U.S.A. and Allies in Iraq.
