The best way is on a George Forman Grill. I fix my sandwich the way I like it with mayonnaise, cheese and tomatoes. Then I butter one side and lay that on the grill. Then I butter the other side and close the top until it is brown. It's not only delicious it's pretty too.

Heat a heavy based frying pan until hot, reduce heat. Butter sliced bread and some lovely mature cheddar cheese. Place 1 slice bread butter side down in the pan add your cheese and top with other slice of bread buttered side on the outside. Cook 1 side until golden brown then flip over and cook the other side. Yummy

1. two slices of bread
2. two slices of your favorite cheese
3. Honey Mustard (optional- but brings out the flavor of most common cheeses).
4. Good non-stick frying pan and spatula (or flipper thingy - whatever you call it)
instructions:
Put the frying pan on the stove top to heat up (med heat), while you are preparing the sandwich.
Take the first slice of bread and lightly butter one side while on it's opposite side spreading a thin layer of honey mustard. Place it in the warming frying pan. Place the two slices of cheese on the first slice of bread. Repeat the buttering and mustard-ing as with the first slice of bread, for the second slice. Place this slice of bread beside the first in the pan. When the cheese has started to melt around the edges on the first slice, use the spatula and place the second slice on top of the cheese (mustard side down). Flip sandwich with spatula. Allow to cook until you can peak between the slices of bread and see that the cheese is completely melted. Then flip every 30 -60 seconds there after until bread is "toasted" or "grilled" to your liking.
Enjoy!

Butter the bread on the outside. Place your favorite cheese slice(s) on the inside, cover with onother slice of bread. Butter the outside of theat slice. Place in a pan over medium low heat. Lift the corner to see if it is brown. If it is turn it over and brown the other side. Remove it from the pan, place it on a plate and let cool for about 5 minutes, cut it in half; be careful the cheese will be hot.

Take a hunk of sharp cheddar cheeze, and slice off some medium thickness slices.
Use Sour French bread.
Put the cheese between two slices, lightly butter the outside, and plop it in a fry pan at medium heat.
Flip when golden-brown. Remove when golden-brown.
Cut.
Consume.

I heat up a small non-stick skillet on medium heat. I make the sandwich with two slices of sourdough or white bread, 2 slices of American, torn up to fit the bread, hose the outside with garlic spray and toss it in the pan. I really like it dipped in Miracle Whip as I'm eating it.

Butter two peices of bread, both sides each.( Mustard ) optional. Don't butter the outsides yet until you put the cheese in it and your ready to put it in the skillet. I like two slices of cheese on mine. ( sliced onions ) optional. Then butter one side of the sandwhich. ( Heat up skillet while preparing the sandwhich. ) When skillet is warmed up, not to hot. Put the sandwhich in the skillet, butter side down while it cooks, butter the top side of the sandwhich. when one side is golden brown, flip it over and brown that side too. You'll know it's cooked when you see the cheese melted. It only takes a minute or two to cook so don't leave it unattended. Enjoy.

Get yourself a good heavy skillet and turn the heat on medium. Either use good oil or butter to moderately grease the cooking surface. Take your bread and lightly butter both sides of each slice. Now put your slice/s of cheese on one slice of bread and add any mustard or other condiment you may want. Top with the other slice of bread and brown on both sides in your skillet until cheese is melted. Enjoy!
