GREED

2007-10-28 06:54:41 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 2 1

the devil is an artificial construct; an all-purpose scapegoat.

poverty was the starting condition; only once there were goods to exchange, division of labor, and limited commodities did any form of haves/have-nots take root; before that, all subsistence was linked to natural cycles, only bad years for a staple food equalled any sort of temporary "poverty."

so real, entrenched poverty only dates back to agricultural settlement, where farm cultures could have stockpiles of food to subsist even through a bad year (while nomads would not), and division of labor allowed social classes to emerge, in which some people's value was deemed 'greater' than another's.

This question is a real bad shortcut to a serious problem.

Anyway, man, God, and the Devil are all the same thing-like branches on a tree.

We ourselves have created this problem through our own greed and injustice to each other.Maitreya's message to all humanity is to "Take your brothers need as the measure of your action and solve the problems of the world'.We all have the ability to create a new civilization that will be based on love and brotherhood and where no body will starve to death in a world of plenty.Service is as well a very rewarding experience and has helped me to overcome my own petty problems.

Job 42:11 (KJV) Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over ALL THE EVIL that the LORD had brought upon him:

Malachi 1:4 (NIV) Edom may say, "Though we have been crushed, we will rebuild the ruins." But this is what the LORD Almighty says: "They may build, but I will demolish. They will be called the Wicked Land, a people always under the wrath of the LORD.* (*including innocent babies!)

It's all over the Bible... really...
Christians hardly read the Bible ...
If they do they poach only the good stuff...
