Nope.
The kids aren't actually possessed by demons, for the purposes of the film... so I think they're probably okay. It's no different than an extended bit of dress-up with make-up.
Repeat after me:
It's just make-believe.
It's just make-believe.
It's just make-believe.
It's just make-believe.
It's just make-believe.
It's just make-believe.
It's just make-believe.
It's just make-believe.

on a matching time because it is unfavorable parenting, I say no for the uncomplicated reason is that Social centers are already crushed with infants who're actual harmed as properly as deserted or injured by drugs. funds cuts by Republicans have stretched the supplies even thinner. There actual isn't any funds for enforcement. My mom's a million/2 brothers and sisters have been emotionally abused by their father and particular, i'm able to verify the outcomes and that they weren't so solid. on the quite a few hand, of the three who had infants, actual one replaced appropriate right into a loser determine. the quite a few 2, in spite of their matters, have been significantly better helpful fathers than their very own.

GREAT question. If it isn't against the law, it should be. I heared Linda Blair had a nervous breakdown after making that film. She was only about 12. It was a shocking film for its time; nowadays nobody would blink an eye at it, but back then people were horrified.
There were also those two little illegal immigrant kids killed during the making of "The Twilight Zone Movie" (Vic Morrow was also killed). They hired illegals because the child actors' guild wouldn't send any legal ones over - it was being filmed at too late an hour. Spielberg and Lucas were taken to court over it, but let off. Lucas pompously said "Vic may be gone, but his movies will live on forever. That's the great thing about movies - they last forever." I hate George Lucas.
Anyway, YES, I think it's child abuse to hire a child for a horror movie. Movies are just cr*p, anyway. They make producers rich and ruin child stars' lives. They need much stricter laws.

No. Things are totally different on a film set than they are in the finished film. No child is ever in danger, and it's not scary because there are crew members plus lighting and camera equipment everywhere. A parent is always on the set, and there are several people whose job it is to make sure the kid is safe and comfortable. Children on film sets are safer and treated better than children at schools, on playgrounds, etc.

no, you are not withholding any of the basic necessities (food, shelter, water, clothes) if you have actually seen true child abuse you would not ask this question, children are tortured raped beaten, and starved daily, that is child abuse, not a child making a million dollars on a movie- I am sure they are explained what they will be doing beforehand and they have to know whats going on before they start.

No. They get monitored and checked, the kids acting in the films don't get to see the bad stuff, it's very carefully planned, for just that reason.
Actors seem to get messed up, whether they were child actors or not.

the finished product is completely different to how it is filmed - out of order, and in bits and pieces
don't forget that a parent will be on set at all times as well

They need children for those roles. I hope they are very careful with the way they use them.
