Uphill or downhill? It also depends on the road surface, you really notice the difference between a smooth freshly tarmacked road and a series of bumps and potholes. If you are just a casual cyclist on an ordinary cheap bike say 30-40 minutes for each 5 miles, but if you're not used to it you should add in an extra half hour for a rest stop. It can certainly be done in under an hour, but it helps if you are fit and have a good quality bike.

A good guess for an average speed would be 10 mph. At that speed you would bike 15 miles in 90 minutes. Allowing a few more minutes for a breather along the way, call it 1 hr 45 min. Of course, there are many factors that could make your time faster or slower -- hills, wind, traffic, etc.

If there are a few hill but nothing noteworthy then it takes me one hour to cover 16 miles on my commuter bike.

1 hour 2 minutes and 17 seconds is my best estimate.
EDIT: I double checked and 1:02:17 is correct.
EDIT: Mr G is correct. I used his calculation methods and since he's the expert I will defer to him. I must have forgot to carry the 2.
