There are so many things to do in New Orleans, especially if you are staying in the French Quarter. Of course, Bourbon Street is always a favorite for night time fun, if you want to experience some good jazz music along with your diner, make it a point to visit Sweet Lorraine's Jazz Club. Their calender for November is not up yet, but I am sure you can call them and get specifics. Check out their website:

Also, schedule a haunted history tour. So interesting! :

River boat dinner cruises are exciting and different:

And it goes without saying that the food here will be something you will rave about for the rest of your life!

This is a guide for the restaurants in New Orleans.
I would suggest Mulate's in the French Quarter, there is a great variety for a reasonable price, and thrown in there is cajun music and dancing, it's wonderful. Make reservations and bring a camera!

I am also including the link to Gray Line Bus and Tour company. They offer quite a few different tours you may be interested in, including a plantation tour.

The weather in November is usually pretty cool, high 50's to low 60's, sometimes heating up to the mid 70's at the highest point of the afternoon. Usually light sweaters with light jackets are acceptable for the evenings, and a long sleeved shirts with light jackets for the day time hours.

Enjoy your stay in the City and be smart and aware of your surroundings. Do not wander off into any area where you are unsure. Use common sense and you will have a wonderful, unforgettable time!

You got some great answers above. The weather in November is generally pretty mild, except for the occasional cold front that may pass thru the area. It may be cool enough for a jacket, especially at night. But you will not need a heavy coat in New Orleans.

Keep in mind that the weather in New Orleans can be extremely variable, and can change quickly, especially in fall and winter. I can remember wearing shorts on Thanksgiving a few years ago.

A few days before your trip, google the 10 day forecast for New Orleans weather. That will give you a better idea of how to pack and what to wear.

Not necessarily cold; you will have to check out an online weather channel before you go. It could be warm. And depending on where you normally live, cold is all relative. Weather in N.O is typically humid and on the warm side.
