Too much food of the wrong kind causes overweight.
Maintaining a balanced diet is important when dieting.
Yoghurt helps to maintain your immune system.
Special K is probably high in bran, & good for fibre.
You need to reduce fats & carbohydrates;-{
especially empty calories like sugar & flour.
Choose lots of fruit & veggies.

drink a glass of water first to make sure you’re really hungry.
But that’s not the only way water can help you lose weight. “If water is incorporated into food, it tends to fill us up. Most fruits and vegetables are 80% to 90% water.
Another tip: Try a bowl of soup before each meal. “Make sure it’s broth-based, not cream-based. and a thick beverage like V8 before a meal so you’re less likely to overeat. You’re likely to consume fewer calories. Brown rice or oatmeal, which have incorporated the water into them, also work.”
“Fiber fills you up before it fills you out.” Whole grains have the added benefit of generally being lower in calories than refined (think white flour) grains and carbohydrates.
Look for breads that say 100% whole wheat to make sure you getting the real deal.
Got Milk? Calcium Fights Fat
Yes, nuts are high in calories, but they are also a great source of protein, fiber, and the “good” (monounsaturated) fat -- all of which can help in weight loss. A small handful (10-to-12 nuts) of walnuts or almonds can actually help you “lower your risk of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes,” says Somer. Try some in your salad, with a piece of fruit, or sprinkled in your cereal – oatmeal, of course.

Yogurt is good. Don't really know about Special K. However, you also have apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, canteloupe, honeydue melon & watermelon as far as fruit goes. As far as raw or cooked veggies, preferably raw, there is broccoli, cauliflower, celery, carrots, etc... Last but not least, lean cuts of meats, chicken & fish. If not into red meats, chicken & fish such as salmon & tuna. Baked. Oh, 1 other thing, EXERCISE!

Don't eat processed food like Special K. Organic is best. Veggies have negative calories and help you burn calories. Cayenne pepper is good. The bottom line is that it really doens't matter what you eat, it's how many calories you consume. However, it's best to not eat sugar and depend on lean protein, fruits and veggies and lots of water. Good luck. rule # 1: be nice to yourself.

Fruits, vegetables, and other low-calorie foods. Yogurt and special k are good. You could always look up fitness magazines or websites, they usually have good suggestions and meal plans.

A good way to tell is to read the ingredients part of the packaging. Most things with hydrogenated oil or high fructose corn syrup is usually not so healthy for you. Anything high in sodium is also bad for you.
