Why is it that when us girls go out and we are married/engaged/living with someone that you have loads of men wanting your number or to take you home, yet when you are single you can't get a bloke for love nor money!!

I ask because I went out last night with 3 of my girlfriends, 2 of us are married, 1 is engaged and the other is living with her partner. We had men coming up to us all night asking for our numbers and so on. When we all single, yes we had boyfriends but never have I had so much attention as I did last night. It was even happening quite early on in the evening so the beer wasn't even a factor in a few cases.

What's going on - do men see us marrieds as a challenge ?

p.s Before you ask - none of us were unfaithful.

Mr Innocent - that is exactly my point, they didn't know we were in relationships at first, but even when this was pointed out to them they still pursued in their quest for a phone number !!!

Wow!! You've actually made me realise how true that is!!!! It's weird!! When i was single for a short while earlier this year, i got no attention. Now i'm seeing someone, i've got about four offers all in the last two weeks! It's odd isn't it? Maybe you give off some signals or something when you're in love?

I bet these guys were mostly younger than you. A lot of Young men Fancy their chances with girls older than them. And as for still pursuing the quest after finding out had a partner, well that's simple it's just that most guys don't take no for a answer. You girls can be a bit soft at times and also like the attention, if you dont want to talk to them tell them like you mean it so they get the message.

Its several things i imagine. First, men find woman they can't have extremely sexy, as well as women that aren't interested in them. When your single you are sort of prowling and men pick up on this, some get nervous etc, but no thrill of the hunt for them when they feel sure they can easily catch you. You ladies probably appeared confident, satisfied, and disinterested in them. That posed a challenge and it was attractive because girls looking for a guy are usually not that confident. Consider it one of life's ironies and a compliment to the relationships your in now. Oh and yes, married women are a challenge or an easy way to get some without any commitment.

It's all to do with pheromones... You unconsciously send out signals and men pick up on it... Some men like a challenge, some don't... Congrats on the attention though, wish i could get some... I'm single and no women come and chat me up... Saying that it might help if i went out lol

In my country situation is different. Girls that are not married and those without boyfriend more easily finds partners. Guys are interested to have a girl without any conflicts with their boyfriends or husbands in most of the cases. Of course there are always exceptions.

Those men might have been interested in you just because they thought that you were unhappy in your relationships and therefore easy to "catch": unhappy because you went out alone without your spouses and boyfriends.

They might not have seen you as a challange, but instead women they easily could come close.

How did they know, by the way, that you were/are already in a relationship?

i think that when you went out to have fun while in a relationship you might have been giving off more of a flirty attitude towards the men because of a desire to be with another guy which caused the men to come to you like a yellow on a taxi.

Men like that kind of challenge.
They think it's a kind of comparison with your partner.
But usually such relationships don't last for long because it's just a challenge and may be they even made a bit or something.
Just keep your BF :)

I am certainly not one of these type of men, as far as I am concerned married/ engaged and girls in relationships are off limits. It doesn't matter how attractive they are.
