I moved my daughter into her toddler bed when she was 2. I actaully think it's an average age most people make the move. Your little girl will probably get up as well, but it's bound to happen. You just have to stay stern and keep putting her back in bed, but don't talk to her everytime about getting up. THe first time tell her it's bedtime and it's time to sleep in her big girl bed. Then if she keeps gettin gup, don't talk to her about it anymore, just keep putting her back in bed. We also set up her bed for her in the afternoon after naptime. That way she got used to the idea of at least seeing it before having to go to sleep in it right away. After a few days she was fine.

My daughter will be 3 in January and only a few months ago did we put her in a toddler bed. You're right, she gets out all the time and comes to our room. We have a little sleeper couch in there for her and she goes right to it and sleeps the rest of the night there. She's a good sleeper though but she likes coming in to our room still. Good luck!

my little girl was about 2 1/2 when she went to a big girl bed. I guess I was just lucky with her. Shes 6 now and stopped wetting before she turned 4. She wanted Barbie sheets, so I told her to keep her bed dry and she could have her room anyway she wanted it. your baby girl is just turning 2. That's great! make sure its low enough if she falls off it wont hurt too much, and let her have a night light so she can find her bed! Summer fell off a few times but she always got back up! She has always been a good sleeper though, we both sleep like a rock. Do you have a safty gate to her door? It will get easier for you when she turns 3! she will be telling you she wants Tinkerbell or Barbie soon. good luck to you Casey.

My daughter will be 2 in a few weeks and we got her a toddler bed a few weeks ago b/c she started climbing out of her crib. We just shut the door but even when she wakes up and yells for mommy or daddy, we open the door and she is still in her bed..or put up a baby gate if you don't feel comfortable w/closing the door.
Good Luck!! Tell her it's a big girl bed and she may love it! Make it fun!

When she's big enough to crawl out of the crib, she needs to be in the toddler bed. It's safer, just make sure everything in the house is childproof.
My little boy was 18 months when I put him in his toddler bed. At first I had to tuck him in several times to get him to staythere, but eventually, it kind of worked, he'd wait till I closed the door, and drag his blanket with him, and sleep under the bed! He showed me! Didn't have to stay in that bed if he didn't want to, but he didn't get back up and run around either. Was a nice compromise I think.

My son has been in a toddler bed since he was a year and a half. He is 2 now. My youngest son just turned 1 and we put him in a toddler bed but it has the safety rails on them. I would rather my 2 year old walk in to our room at night then to try getting out and break his arm or leg. Its only up to what you guys think and how you guys feel. I love that we switched but its whatever you guys feel is right.

My never was a good sleeper and still isn't. I moved him to a toddler bed when he started to climb out of his crib. I'd rather have him walking around then breaking a leg trying to climb out of the crib.

When she starts trying and maybe even succeeds in climbing out of it. I watch a little boy and his parents switched him to a toddler bed at about 2 and a half because he started crawling out of his crib.
