yesterday i went to a halloween thingy and we cooked marshmallows over a fire. today i said to my mom " it was so much fun last night roasting marshmallows" and then she was like "isnt it toasting marshmallows" and i was all "idk". so here i am , asking a question. please dont think im a dumb butt for asking :)

If it's over an open flame, then you roast them. If it's heating them up to brown them any other way, then it's toasting them.

I usually let the marshmallow catch on fire! Then I blow it out and eat it.

Roasting? Toasting? Does it matter?

You roast them over an open fire:

thus you have toasted them. when they turn all light brown and gooey.

except ilike mine on the really toasted side. lol

If you want them slightly browned it's toasting
If you want to catch it on fire and let it burn until it's black it's roasting
