Have you thought about a home based business that you could both work at. My husband and I have one that we have great success with. There are also craft opportunities with this business. Check out my profile for more details.

To be honest, the first thing to do is to take professional advice on the debts and this is best sourced via a money advisor at your local CAB ( I assume you are in the UK ). Some debts count as priority ( i.e. rent/mortgage, council tax, insurances, food, child maintenance ) and others are non-priority. I deal with debt every day and it amazes me how many people will pay the credit card, bank overdraft, catalogue bills, personal loans etc while not giving priority to the more important things. You can only earn so much money and that needs to be split amongst the priority debts first. You need a rational plan here and it is important that you simply just don't try and satisfy everyone without sensible advice. I have seen so many people get into trouble ( even have a nervous breakdown ) because they try and pay everything all at once. Debt is a fact of life. You simply have to face it and seek advice on the best way to deal. The important thing also is that alongside all of this you must make your own economies as well. You will feel a lot happier having everything under control!

The way I make money online is by making websites. You do not need to be a genius either.

These websites are targeted to niche markets and promote ebay items for related goods. I add in amazon ads and other big search engine ads that we had best not mention. Its a great income from many sources.

I reckon anyone can do using the program I do. Ebay pay $25.00 per new sign up and 50% of any revenue they make from a sale if someone buys through your site.

And that can be anyone, even friends, family or you as well as the worldwide visitors.

First of all, what a creep. THIS is why people need to have open and honest financial discussions with their partners.

But okay. I don't want to get your back up here.

Get a second job. It sucks, I know. But I did it for several years.

Make HIM get a second job.

Cut all non-necessary expenses. I sense that you're a saver and he's a spender. Tell him no more DVDs, no more video games, no more dinners out until you've reached a goal.

Set concrete goals. We WILL pay $300 a month on this card. Make a budget. If your bank allows you to pay online, do that. EVERY payday.

Marriage counseling might not be a bad idea. He may resent you for the sudden change in lifestyle; you may resent him for the debt.

And two words: plasma banks.

I would suggest contacting the Citizens advice bureau to work out a debt payment scheme - you may be able to get interest on the debts frozen and then pay back what you can afford.

Then I would go about retraining hubby's spending habits or it will all happen again......

Is your newly aquired husband helping on this particular issue? If not, will he be walking the long walk?

You probably need to talk to a credit expert on this one. You need to go through both your income (and ability to earn) but also ability to reduce expenditure.

You could also look at consolidation loans.

Oh, and cut up his credit cards.
