I have a very old Good Housekeeping cookbook that includes a wartime supplement. The outside of the book has the same checkered pattern that better homes and gardens cookbook has. The problem is this book was vandalized during the process of moving (left in the car and someone broke in and tore it up for ha-ha's ) and I'm missing the first 60 pages. I would love to find a replacement copy but without the publishing information I'm stuck. There are some old ones out there but not quite this old. I'm guessing this is either early 20's or early 40's given the war supplement. If anyone out there has one like this intact could you give me the publishing info?

I know there is an old book store in Oregon called Janes. They might have a website. She used to have her store in Seattle. I purchased from her a replacement book for my mother for the Woman's Home Companion Cookbook with the war supplement in it. She had 3 copies so I bought one for myself as well. She may have what you need. She would ship it to you.

There is a Jane Addams Book Store in Champaine - 2 1/2 hrs from Chicago. She as very old books there. Google her store and you can e-mail her to see if she has it. I think there is a link to see if they have it without e-mailing too.

Try ebay or look for an antique website, just using the words cookbook or good housekeeping cookbook

I checked on EBay and there is one there (Item number: 110183644615) it has no bids at this time and is currently only 4.99. That is the best I could recommend for quick replacement of your treasure. Sorry that it was destroyed and hope this one will do. Good Luck!

This website has a lot of old cookbooks, so if this isn't the one, keep searching!
