Some times you enter a store to purchase like a household or electronic equipment and you are wondering, how could I identify if a product is refurbished in order to avoid paying the price of a band new one ?

This hard to say. We hope the store is honest and will re-sale as refurbished. I would look around on the outside. Many scratches or a label that cover a seam that look replaced or tampered with. Those labels are very sticky and usually leave some stickum when removed. If, it not cleaned and a new label not positioned correctly over the old, this may give a clue. But, I not saying this 100% guarantee either.

As Snadgelfr... says, it is really difficult to tell unless you are really familiar with the item in question. One thing that I do is to ask what warranty goes with the product. If the warranty is the same or similar to the kind of warranty being extended to real "brand new" ones, then I'd say it would be fairly safe to assume that the product it is reliably "new". If the product has no warranty or if the seller shows some hesitancy in extending one, then that, to me, is a good indication that the product is questionable.
