Hi,

I do not drink often, but I did drink this weekend, and I drank way over my limit, but I did not black out. Is it possible to receive brain damage/loss from just one night?

No don't worry about that but it's not recommendable to get that drunk too often cause you could end up with alcohol intoxication and in hospital having your stomach pumped.

Alcohol can damage brain cells in the smallest of quantities, so did you damage brain cells this weekend? Probably some but nothing that you will notice. If you continue over a period of time you will notice the changes in your memory, drink sensibly.

As long as you didn't give yourself a trip to the hospital, I wouldn't worry about long term damage. Long term damage usually requires long term drinking as well.

Sounds to me like you just drank a bit much, got drunk, and it was generally harmless. Just learn from it, have a better idea what your tolerance is, and *never* go near it in the presence of people you don't trust entirely.

No. Brain or other physical damage is due to long term excess drinking.

I dunno but if you can't remember parts of the night I've been told that that means you have killed some brain cells. I always thought that meant I had a good night!! Don't worry bout it.

I had always been told that alcohol kills brain cells but I have heard that this is in fact not true.
