There's this guy (isn't there always?) who I met through a class. We never really talked (we're both very shy), but his partner for class was friends with my partner and we all sat together about a semester ago. Well now I see him every now and then and I happen to see him this past week. I was walking with a friend down a sidewalk and he was riding his bike talking to a friend on the opposite side. Our eyes met, we both smiled, and I looked away. When I turned my head his direction, he was still staring at me and naturally, I blushed and quickly turned away again. I'm not used to anyone staring at me and I know little about the opposite sex. Does this mean anything or was he just staring? Since I wasn't walking right in front of him, he had to turn his head to the side to look at me.

His staring means he is attracted to you. By you two having been thrown together before, he likes what you represent for him (another shy person who he can potentially talk to) and he wants to talk to you. But he's afraid of being rejected. So he's waiting for you to give him an opening to make a move. If you continued to look at him when he looks at you, he would feel called to you and would be less apprehensive about approaching you. By the way...I'd let him approach you. If you approach him, he may not respond well because he is so shy. You need for him to get his courage up and have a level of commitment in his approach. As Madonna once said in a song: "You got to Make him express how he feels and baby then you'll know his love is real"

Hmmmm What if he was staring at your friend instead? Or what if you had a booger hanging on the side of your nose? Did you check to see if there was toilet paper stuck to your shoe? Was your shirt buttoned up? lol
More than likely he was interested in you though. Give it a bit, he will probably work up enough courage to ask you out.

Sounds like he could be interested in you. If you like him try talking to him when he is alone and se what happens. Take it slowly though, don't go rushing into anything.
