Yesterday night I saw God in my dreams. I'm an Indian so Indians would know what does Shiv-ling mean. I saw a Shivling in my dreams. My mom and aunt are telling me, "Kiddo...God is here itself. Just ask the question, God, are you here? And then water will flow out of the Shivling".
So, I ask the question, "God, are you here?" and lo and behold! Water flows out like a fountain from the Shivling. And next to the Shivling, I see Lord Shiva in his full form.
Honestly, I was so scared of that dream.....couldnt sleep for atleast 10 mins after that. Hugged my hubby real tight before going to bed again.
Can anyone tell me what does this dream signify?

Why were you scared of someone who loves you so. I don't know Lord Shiva I have native ancestry but when we were young we were taught not to talk about it, like it was something to be ashamed of. I am sorry for that because I love the earth and feel a connection with it, love the smell of it in the spring as I work the ground in my perennial beds.
I sometimes fantasize of an island where everything is so beautiful and all that one needs is there for the taking, with work of course to put everything together to sustain my life given to me from God.
Your dream signifies that your god will always be there even after moments you may have forgotten him. He is ready to take you back happily, just like you would welcome back your son or daughter if they ran away and decided to come home again, wouldn't that make you happy? Migwitch for your question, it makes one soul search here is a star.

My dreams signify that my brain is working properly. We're all meant to dream and if we don't dream properly, we suffer, mentally. The trick is to catch the memory of your dreams as you come into wakefulness. I also have 'lucid' dreams where I know I'm dreaming and I can change the outcome or move the dream to another 'stage' and introduce different 'actors'. I have some brilliant dreams where I am flying in the air, sweeping and soaring, dipping and diving, and I sometimes have the most vivid technicolour images of the night sky with wonderful planets and stars. One thing I know for certain - whatever has been on my mind before going to sleep (stuff on TV or what I'm reading) gets an airing in my dreams. That's why it's so important to put good things into your mind! I have had dreams that might be interpreted as Spiritual - but it has been my experience that God is more likely to contact me through his written word than through a dream. Edit: Just spotted your remark about Joseph. Check out Annsan's answer!

Not being Indian I have no idea what a Shiv-ling is nor do I know your traditions so I will only speak from my perspective as a Christian.
I believe that Jesus is coming very, very soon. I know that people have been saying this for centuries but I believe this is the last of the last days! I believe what this dream is telling you is that God wants a relationship with you and for you to have a relationship with Him. I would be happy to share more with you if you are interested, feel free to email me.

That must have been scary!! But.... There actually is no such things as 'dreams' it's just the movement of your eyes, that make humans 'dream'. So that's why I advise you to sleep in a little late, so your eyes will be too tired to move. I used to have 'dreams' all the time, cos I slept at 7:30pm!!!!!!!!!
Well, lets see, well the dream could mean... ummm.... that..... actually the dream cant mean anything, cos how can you be so sure that that was 'god'? I mean you've never seen him in person, so you wouldn't know. So don't panic!!
