i was eating at Panda Express and got the kung pao something chicken and there was this little completely black pepper in it that looked like it was burnt black and it was about the size of a snow pea so i ate it and it was HOT i mean i've had jalapeño peppers that weren't near this hot. my whole tongue and throat burned and it felt like my whole upper body was in pain. it wasn't an allergic reaction but what on earth was that thing!!?! all answers are appreciated :)

Here's Panda Express's recipe for Kung Pao chicken. It calls for "whole dry chili peppers" stir fried until the chili peppers change to a darker color.

Sounds like it might have been a Sezchuan pepper. The general rule for peppers is that the smaller and and more red the hotter.

it might've been a hot chili pepper, with a piece of burnt red pepper on it.

Probably hot Thai chili's, or Habenjeros. (Spelling). they are soooo hot!!
