does a outdoor attenna get any hd channels and does the channels come in like actual hi def channels. will i be able to watch espn and football games in hi def with this. will i have all the channels that i would get with cable from timewarner cable. is this service free then.

is it true that standard channels that are not high def capable come in worse on a hdtv.

Standard Def TV has been around since 1940. It has taken this long, and an act of Congress, to change things. HD will be around for a while.

Over-the-air (OTA) is free HDTV. Type in your address to:

www.antennaweb.org

to see what HT broadcasters there are around your home. The Phillips Silver Sensor ($30) is a great indoor antenna.

BUT: No - cable offers a lot of channels that are not broadcast with an antenna. Local networks, Fox, WB are broadcast, but not ESPN, Fox Sports, etc.

No and yes. No: Standard def channels do not 'come in worse' on a HDTV. Yes: they look crappy.

SD channels have not changed since the 1940's. Putting them on a high-resolution display shows you how far we have advanced in 65 years.

HDTV's are really not that great right now. There are a lot of things that you need to consider about. First you need to find out if the provider on your college dorm actually transmit in digital or analog formats. There are a lot other considerations as well. Like the brand that you like, the durability and other smaller considerations. Now if you would like check this article out, http://tvguidechannel.info/2007/10/30/hdtv-buying-guide-and-how-to-choose-a-hdtv/ its not fluff it gets to the point so you will know. PLUS eventually when everyone is broadcasting in analog, then you will be able to probably get one for 1/10 th of the price now. By the way did you know that As of March 1, 2007, all new TV sets in the U.S. had to have DTV tuners or be DTV ready. But the transition to digital TV wont be complete until Feb. 17, 2009. So hold on and then buy when prices are slashed in 1/2. Ok

you are going to be able to desire to alter the settings on an identical time as your on the hdtv (you're able to do it on the time-honored television, yet you wont have a show screen to be sure it so it may desire to be no longer common). the different threat is to hold down the flexibility button on the console. if it beeps thrice, video settings are reset. this doesnt seem to artwork for me, so unwell enable you be responsive to approximately the different one. on your hdtv, plug the two the hdmi cable in and the rca cables in. bypass to the show settings on the significant menu of your ps3. substitute it from hdmi to the rca cables (they have diagrams). the show screen ought to bypass black. now substitute the television 'channel' to the way you could view your ps3 as in case you have been fidgeting with the rca cables. settle for the transformations and your set. once you deliver it lower back on your hdtv, the television and ps3 would know the hdmi cord and ask you to alter it from rca to hdmi suggestions-blowing then and there, even though it doesnt artwork any opposite direction around. you are going to be able to desire to do it manually
