It's a little late to lose weight by 1/1/07. But... be careful about juice. Many juices have just as much sugar as soda! Eat fruit instead. You shouldn't try to lose 25-50 pounds in two months! You could seriously hurt yourself! That's like losing a sixth to a third of your current body weight and that fast weight loss could actually put you in the hospital. You won't be able to lose that weight that fast unless you stop eating completely which you should NEVER do. Try getting a walk in every day and you need to eat food. You'll just put the weight back on if you try this or you'll end up killing yourself. See a nutritionist and talk to your doctor before trying any type of diet.

That sounds like a good plan but I will make 2 suggestions. Be careful of drinking juice because it is high in sugar. An 8 ounce serving of orange juice has as much sugar (give or take a gram or 2) as an 8 ounce serving of Coke, Pepsi, or any other drink. I am diabetic so that is one thing that I am aware of and know very well. More importantly, I will suggest a little more exercise that what you mentioned. Doctors recommend 30 minutes, 3 days a week as a minimum to maintain good health. If you are trying to lose weight, you should do more than that. Maybe try 30 minutes, 5 days a week. It seems like you have good intentions and I hope you are motivated. Don't be disappointed if you do not lose 25 - 50 pounds by the end of the year because that may not be possible (or healthy). Be happy if you lose 10 - 15 and then try to lose more after that. Good luck and I hope I have helped.

Sorry, hun, I don't think there is anyway for you to lose 30% of your weight in 2 months, other than extreme starvation diet. No healthy way. If you got that route, your body will not get the nutrition and protein it needs. Your body will start eating itself - using your muscle mass to support itself. YOu will lose muscle mass, not fat.
Check with your doctor, find out what the recommended weight standards. Oh, BTW, that's recommended by the Medical profession, not recommended by the fashion, music, movie industry.
If you still feel you need to lose weight, eat a healthy diet and do moderate exercise.

25 to 50 lbs in two months is not only impossible, it's dangerous. What is the matter with you young people destroying your bodies to look thinner, seriously? Even if you DO lose that weight, it will be all water and muscle in that quick amount of time, and FAT will replace the muscle, making you...guess what...FATTER, literally! You're 13 years old, so my advice to you is to get with your school nurse and come up with a plan....that's what your parent's taxes are paying her/him for. Together, you'll come up with a way to shed the pounds in a HEALTHY and semi-quick way. In the meantime, look into doing pilates.

Sounds like a good plan. But, I found since I have been exercising and eating healthier, drinking more water that you can lose weight. Some folks, say you can't target certain areas, but I don't believe that is true, in my case it seems that I have. Good for you. Keep it up.
P.S. I know you meant to say by 1/1/2008.

that's too FAST. If you lose more than 2 pounds a week it's considered unhealthy. so try for losing 8 pounds each month. It wil shed the pounds slower, but at least you'll do it in a healthy way.

A tough challenge ! Low carbs like the Atkins have proven the most effective for folks that have the resolve to stick with it, but a more sensible and health approach can be found at -
