In Denmark, when the Nazi Party announced that all Jewish people had to wear the Yellow Star, the Danish Royal family and all the non Jewish population also sewed yellow stars on to their clothes as a protest The Nazis were furious, but could do nothing..

white rose movement, student groups (elderwise pirates (i'm not sure thats spelt right)), The SPD in exile, the communists - depends how you define effective as the war brought down the Nazis before they had the chance as resistance was only working in the latter part of the war when the Nazis had bigger problems, before this time all resistance was destroyed. the best resistance was military though look up the bomb plot of 1944 and vonstaffenburg

perhaps ...some germans hid jews.... and they did smuggle some out of germany....
but they were taken to concentration camps/killed when they were found out....don't know how effective that was....
nazi's were effective in controlling the populace...probably because they were so ruthless...passive resistance just didn't work against them....they simply carted your sorry butt off to Buchenwald...and that was that....
what exactly have you got in mind? do you know of some effective, non-military resistance that worked?

I thought the NAZI war machine was crushing everything in it's path that did not fight very hard. That is until the fuel problem. And being bombed daily. And the Normandy Invasion. Etc....

Mentally and Physically Handicapped Germans prior to WW2 = murdered by Euthanasia for not being perfect Germans families told they died of sickness or natural causes.
Thousands of European "ROMA" Gypsies exported to Germany and other death Camp locations.
Hundreds of innocent civilians in many lands = executed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
